RAW vs. Jpeg article

interesting article...i did notice the jpg photog. turned off everything and shot manual. not sure if that is possible with every camera...like i know the rebel you can set parameters but not sure what is "on" without using them.... and kind a anyway unless i
misunderstood her, she also seemed to be talking about a photo shoot...might be different, ie a little harder if you are not setting up shots.
