Check this out..I'm not sure what impact it might have, but I believe there are 50,000 DISers who might rate some things with well earned and needed brutal honesty ie; Kali River rapids, Chester and Hesters, you all know the rest.

The vote counts are so low I'd be hard pressed to draw any inference from the results. That being said, I did scan the list to see what was rated at the top (9) and bottom (5 or less), thinking about our answers to Scoop's question on an earlier thread.

...............Top........................Bottom

MK...........Splash, HM.............Aladdin, Swiss, Dumbo, Speed
EPCOT......Illum, AmAdv............Innov, FoodRocks, BodyWars
Studios.....ToT,RnR..................
DAK..........TTBAB,MahTrek........TrSpin,Conserv,Pocha

USO..........MIB........................Bettlejuice, Barney
IOA...........Spidey,Hulk,DD........Tricer,Petrydon,StormForce
................Popeye, Dudley

SW...........Kraken.....................Tropical Reef

BGT..........(none).....................Python, King Tut, RhinoRally

In the bottom category the real ouch (besides actually riding Python) has to be Rhino Rally. This was a major investment for them. Outside of Body Wars most ot the others at the bottom were not intended to be major attractions.

May have to cast a few votes of my own.

Larworth,

I agree the votes are very low, but you noticed as I did the pattern we all discuss here, is reflected on this site.I'm hoping many will cast their votes there as well.

I was browsing around this site and check out number 4 for the Readers Most Hated Attractions:

4. Tomorrowland Indy Speedway (Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom)

Wow, I could not agree more. This attraction, if you want to call it that, is so far past its time it is ridiculous. Think of all the land that is being wasted in WDW MK from just this one attraction, also.

How about most hated attraction that doesn't exist and STILL takes up an enormous amount of space? 20K comes to mind.

Most hated but still draws a crowd.. We (parents) hate it because it's slow, line is agonizing from park open BUT we go because the kids love it -where else can they drive their own car and bang up Mom or Dad in the process?:p

I (this parent) hate it because it's loud, smelly, unmagical and very out of place in Tomorrowland (or any part of any Disney park in my opinion.)

I love the little cars! They were my first driving experience!

P.S. tstobb - I LOVED your pictures! Looks like your cruise was a great trip! I'm showing them to my wife, maybe she'll let us go, too!

I say TSW is CRAP!!! But if they change it so that the cars look futureistic (like, you can see the wheels so it looks like the car is hovering across the ground) and instead of noisey gass engines, use electric motors that are quiet and can be recharged easly and when breaking, they recharg.

I agree with the above quote, and I wouldn't say that the Tomorrowland Indy Speedway is a waste of MK land. That was one of my favourite rides when I went there as a kid. I wouldn't neccesarily ride it now, but it's great for little kids who can't drive yet :earsgirl: :earsboy: The irony of all of this is once some people grow up they don't like driving too much!

One of my funniest memories of my trip to WDW was that my foot got tired, so I stopped our racer. Mom said that we can't stop, and so she ended up pushing the petal to the metal while I drove hehehehehe :)

Kids like to drive so there is something to be said for keeping the notion of the ride but re-vamping it. Cars aren't loud anymore so there is no reason for the ride to have a dull roar & gasoline odor.

It would also be nice if they had a lane where you weren't on rails. Put the little kids on the railed cars and everyone else on slow moving cars with passing lanes....bumpcar style. In fact you could put the little kids on a suspended track because the cars can't run off...that would free up the lower track for something more interesting.

While looking at the Indy Speedway yesterday, I noticed all the kids on the ride and in the line, so yes, there is a lot of joy found in this attraction by many of Disney's guests, so I will say it is not a total waste of Disney land. I will say that if anything, this is not an attraction for tomorrowland or fantasyland as the cars are shaped something similar to maybe 50's racing cars, and there is nothing fantasy about them in my opinion.

Like doubletrouble had said, this is in deperate need of an update to make this attraction more environmentally favorable as well as to fit in with the theme of tomorrowland or even fantasyland. This will keep the children happy to be able to drive there own racing car type vehicle, and it will fit better into its surrounding environment.
