I was just wondering if the "seasons" have been announced for next year? I am planning a April vacation.....this year it goes from "peak" to "regular" starting April 17th......would they honor this years "seasons" when booking next year?

Thanks!

Kim

Hey Kim--

Here's a copy/paste of an email reply I received in response to pretty much the same question as you:

Dear Debbie,

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.

Each year, our Product Development Department reviews all components offered under each package
name. This determines the packages and components included for the following year. At this time,
packages and room rates beyond 2005 have not been announced.

It is possible to book a 'room only' reservation for 2006; however, please understand that all rates
for any Walt Disney World® Resort are only guaranteed through December 31, 2005. A reservation of
this type will require a deposit at the current 2005 nightly room rate, including tax; and will be
adjusted to the 2006 rate at a later date.

A package may be added when details have been announced, however, it will be necessary for you to
check when the packages become available. Your room reservation will not automatically convert to a
package. Advance reservations do not guarantee the availability of discounts and special programs

Hope it helps! I just booked our plane ticket down for next Feb vacation. Stayed up til the wee hours last night, and scored a nice $79 one way for the Weds before Feb vacation.

Also, the reason I care is that I know they will be changing from Value to something higher, is ususally right before President's weekend. I want to see if we can do a Value Resort on our Arrival day, and then switch over to either the Contemporary or Ft Wilderness Cabins, or if we will need to book the higher level resort on arrival due to seasons........

Hmmmm...so that means even if I book "regular" season now it could be adjusted to another season later?

We just stayed at the cabins 2 weeks ago for the first time and LOVED it.....going back again next year because we liked it so much!

Great rate for Feb. by the way....what airline? I'm going to assume Song....just flew them last week as well...very nice. I was just looking at their rates for Feb. because we were still trying to deide between Feb. and April. I would rather go in Feb (for crowd resons!) but DH really wants to go in April next time....hoping for great weather. The last 2 weeks in Florida were not the best weahter wise but we all know that is a gamble. We go to the beach for a week after WDW so we decided that if we go in April we are pretty much guaranteed warmer weather.....I hope I didn't just jinx that!! LOL

Kim

Kim--Yep, we're on Song. All things being equal, it's the way to go out of this part of the world for school vacation weeks. I can book 331 days out, and they book one way. (We'll be doing 5 days in WDW, and then driving south to Bonita Springs--and flying home from there).

We stayed in the cabins in January of 2004 and REALLY LOVED them too. It will all depend if my folks decide to come up and join us. If they decide to, we'll do the cabin. If not, we'll probably do a CR tower room.

Also, this year, the season switched from Value to Regular (or Peak?) on the Wednesday before President's Day.

And for what it's worth--we spent Feb Vacation this year in Bonita, and had 9 days of PERFECT 85 degree weather, with no rain until the day we left.

I agree with the 331 day out thing! We have always flown Southwest but we got a better rate on Song this time. Dh said he likes flying out of Providence better (I thought I did too BUT Boston was very easy this trip) but I told him that then I have the play the "waiting for the kill game"....guessing when SW would release their rates nad then beating all of NEw England off with a broom ESPECIALLY during school vacation! LOL So I am sticking with Song without hesitation and I will just tell DH later! LOL We also like to fly into one airport and out another(Tampa) although we had to fly in and out of Orlando this trip. You had great weather! We just got back last night and our weather was not the greatest but it could have been worse!! Maybe I should try to convince DH to go in Feb so that WDW would be cheaper ALTHOUGH we have a condo on hold for April that I am about to put the deposit on....get this.....they made a mistake on their rate sheet and they quoted me $600 less than it should have been and they are honoring it! So if I tried to go in Feb. the condo would be $600 more! Washes out I guess!
