Rate the Ride: Star Tours

I went to the opening, too! Those 60 hour parties were so much fun. I went to the Captian EO one, too. We would get to DL at midnight on Friday bacause you got in cheaper. :thumbsup2 Go home at about noon on Sat..sleep a few hours and go back and do it all over again. :cool2:

WOW..that was when I was in High School. I can't imagine that I could do that now. =)

We did Captain EO too - and just like you - we went for quite a while, then left and slept for a while, and then went back! Crazy fun.

When the 30th Party rolled around, though, I stayed the entire time - no leaving and going back for that one. Seeing the sun rise in DL is just so magical. :)

Love ST...One of my fondest memories from childhood....

I have to say when I was there in march we sat in the front row once and another time we sat in the last row....it was WAYYYY better in the last row for some reason.....

Okay, I'm a total ride chicken. I don't do coasters at all, or any type of drops. However, I've never had a problem with motion sickness (I love the teacups ride;) ).

Could I handle this one? :confused3 . Also--is it at all frightening for little kids (our youngest will be almost 5 when we go).

It was my 4 year old sons absolute favorite ride in DL when we went last fall.

I think it's worth a try for both of you. :thumbsup2

You could easily handle it as long as you don't get motion sickness. It isn't frightening at all. Your 5 year old should love it! Both my boys have loved it since they were 3 years old. It's one of their favorite rides.:woohoo:

I love Star Tours! Definitely remember the excitement when it first opened. Frankly I love the fact that there are no lines for it anymore. While I would enjoy an update, (pod racing?? Cool!) I'm okay with it being the same as well. My DS has loved it passionately ever since he was tall enough to ride. We're all big SW fans, though.

And that silly Captain Rex! DS always ends the ride with, "Well, he still just can't get it right, can he...?":confused3

But some people do get really motion sick on it. When I took DD and her friend for DD's birthday, DD's friend was the first in our line to walk into the ride vehicle. OOps! Somebody had "lost their lunch" on the last flight to Endor and neglected to tell a CM. DD and her friend traipsed right through it!! EWWWW!! So I backed out, they went out the other side and notified a CM, who redirected the rest of us waiting to get on to another vehicle. Unfortunately, the CMs didn't put DD and her friend through. They just had to exit. Stunk (in many ways:laughing: ) because 1) I didn't know where they had gone; and 2) they didn't get to ride!

Even though DD was just turning 11 she handled it very well, and waited for us to get off the other ride vehicle down in the shop.
