rate change when already booked w/ ta

How does disney work it when a discount code comes in, you booked through a travel agent and they have a deposit. Does the TA call for the rate change or do I call CRO and have them apply it,, how does the credit get handled if you booked w/ a C Card?

I too would love to know. Our TA is cheaper at the moment but I think with a code we could pay less.

I'm no expert, but this is my understanding...
If you book through a TA they own your reservation. Any changes, including applying codes, etc. will have to be made by them. If you call Disney yourself they will not/ can not help you. Depending upon your TA, they should automatically call and apply any codes to your existing reservation IF they are a Disney expert TA. I would call and ask your TA to apply the code to your reservation as soon as it comes out. Give him/her alternate dates, resorts, etc. just in case your reservation can't be converted to the lower rate. Remember they only release so many rooms with the codes.

I think that's true....you can't alter reserves made by an agency...but you can the other way around...
not positive though.

Only your TA can apply the codes & get the cheaper rate if they initially made your reservation - and refund your money to your credit card. It can be done though - be glad for that!

I am a TA, and the only way your agent can change your rates to the lower codes is if they actually booked the reservation through WDW travel. There are hundreds of companies that travel agents can book through for Disney, and many of them offer lower prices, especially if it is a package including airfare. There will be no problem adjusting the rates with WDTC, but if is though another supplier the chances are slim that they will allow any adjustments. So it would be wise to remember in the future to ask your TA to book your reservation directly with Disney if there is any chance of codes coming out.

You can also use the Disney "specialists" like Small World Vacations (on mousesaver.com), or Dreams Unlimited from this site. They keep an eye out for any and all discounts and will take care of adjusting your prices automatically. The best thing is that the service is FREE of cost and it also frees you from having to constantly look for codes and then calling Disney.
We are using Small World Vacations this year and have saved about $800.00 off the rack rates. They started us out with a AAA discount and then two better deals came along. I never had to do a thing. They just kept lowering the price!!! What a deal!!!!
They even made the Priority Seatings for us.
