I'm planning a trip for August and will be there when the rates drop from regular season to value season. Can anyone tell me if the rates for my stay will also drop or am I locked in at the rate I checked in at?

The rate that you recieve for the first day of your stay will apply for your entire stay. Since you'll be checking in during regular season, regular season rates apply for your entire stay. On the flip side, it can work to you advantage if you check in during value season, you can get value season rates during your entire stay even if a more expensive season happens during your stay. There is a way around your problem though... Make two different reservations. Make one reservation for your stay during regular season, and another one for your stay during value season. Have CRO link the ressies, and when you check in tell them about your linked ressies. All you'll have to do is go down to the front desk and get new keys, you won't even have to change rooms!!!

Just one comment - I have done the 2 ressie - link them thing in the past - it works great. The only thing is that I was told they "try" and keep you in the same room but cannot guarantee it. You "may" have to change rooms.

Whenever we visit WDW we always have a rate change. We make the two ressies, send the two deposits, and just change room keys on the day of the change. It saves money for sure.

We have always been able to keep the same room. If you book the same type room for both reservations, there shouldn't be any problem, say standard/standard, or waterview/waterview. The only time you might have to change is if the room type is different from one reservation to the other, say standard/waterview.

The only bad thing is that you do have to send in two deposits. :):D:)

Thanks everyone. I think I will make two reservations.

I was looking at some of the deluxe resorts, as compared to moderate and value resorts, and noticed that they have different time frames for their value seasons. Does anyone know why that is?
