I found a rat in my desk drawer today!!

I have a big bag of M&Ms that I keep at work in my desk drawer. I opened the drawer and saw a little head peaking out of the bag!!!

The guys here tried to catch it but it ran off. I think it would have made a great little pet.

They do make great pets. I am on my 2nd. one. My kids love him and he will sit with them and eats out of their hands. No nibbling or biting ever. This one's name is Wendall, after one of the Country Bears. He is adorable and runs all over my homeoffice when I have the door shut. Do you think it was a rat though? Rats have very distinctive long tails and tend to be large-unlike mice who are very tiny and have cute little eyes! Oh yeah and Wendall's favorite foods are potatoe chips and cereal---treats only tho!

Rats are AWESOME pets! We've had Tink for almost two months now...I wish we had gotten one sooner instead of the guinea pigs we had. She too LOVES cereal...especially Fruit Loops. She is what I think they call a Dumbo Rat...she's got these big ears that just stick out...she's so cute! She cleans herself more than my cat even does, and her cage NEVER smells.

It was defitenly a rat.. big, thick tail and all though I think it was more a baby one. It wasn't very big. My brothers used to keep an albino one as a pet when we were young

I didn't want them to catch it because they wanted to kill it.. poor thing was just hungry.. betcha there isn't much to eat out in a desert.


Now don't think I would want to sleep with one. my tent mate complained because she saw one coming out of her suitcase../.... well complain is to put it lightly... you could her screaming miles off..

Gross, gross, gross! Ok, I know in the scheme of things this probably isn't the worst critter you've had to deal with since you were deployed to the middle east but still... I'm afraid I haven't been converted by the 'rats as pets' lovers. I still think of them as something to run from! lol.
