RAST test is a blood test that checks for antiobodies. My child had it done becuase he was a 4++ for peanut and we wanted to know how severe it is. The RAST proved he has a severe peanut allergy and ANY trace amount in his body is going to cause anaphylactic reaction. In other words, it's deadly to him. Also, he cannot consume anything that says "May contain peanuts/dust/etc."
My son is older and carries a Twin-ject with him. But the doctor went over the info with him and explained once again just how severe his allergy is and what he needs to do if he's exposed to peanuts.
Good luck with your DD. I can honestly say you have to be very diligent about checking everything your daughter ingests. And manufacturers change their equipment/ingredients. So what was safe last month may not be safe this month.
