Rash guards

So now that it is fall, none of the stores carry bathingsuits/rash guards. I was going to order some online for my boys, but then I thought they might sell a special "disney cruise" rash guard on the ship. Any chance of this?

Land's End? LL Bean? Those at least usually have things year round. Amazon also.

No clue about on board as I don't have kids and don't buy swimwear on board.

Not that I noticed. If so they cost an arm and a leg. I ordered ones off of Amazon last September for my kids. Hope that helps.

Never saw any when we were onboard last December so I was glad that we bought in advance. We did look in one of the shops where we bought swim shoes and I would expect that any swim shirts would have been in the same section but all they had were shoes and regular bathing suits and towels.

We bought ours online partly to make sure that we had them and because they had a lot of selection (DH and I bought from different places - me from Coolibar, but I don't recall where he got his). I also just bought some capri length swim pants, a halter-type top, and an additional long-sleeve and short-sleeve shirt all of which can be mixed and matched for our trip to Aulani. We drove all over town last fall before ordering online for our last December trip. The only one we were able to find (for DH - none for me) had a huge logo on the sleeve and was a hideous colour. I'd suggest looking online if you really want something and just pick up something from Disney for fun if they have it but don't count on it. I'd totally buy one if they had something with the DCL logo on it like the Nike shirts they sell.

I don't remember seeing any on the Wonder mid-winter. There were swimsuits, etc on CC, but that's not terribly helpful if you want them for another pre-CC shore excursion or on the ship itself. You're better off buying online. The Disney store was just having a sale if you were hoping for Disney-specific. I spent far too much online yesterday!! Otherwise our go-to is Lands' End, for sure. I usually buy in the off-season for sales anyway. I just got my son a new rash guard a few weeks ago, and practically everything was in stock still, so I would check there. They also have a coupon code good through tomorrow.

If anybody has them on board, it will be Whozits and Whatzits (if you're on the Fantasy).

It depends on if you are saying "rash guard" but meaning "spf/swim shirt"? I seem to remember some small kids spf shirts at the cart by the pool and perhaps one of the stores(or even the Disney store at MCO. If you mean an actual rashguard then you need an actual surf shop or online store like Backcountry.com etc.

They had white ones with “Disney Cruise Line” in red writing at Whozits and Whatzits on the Fantasy last week. Adult and kids sizes, but I don’t know the price.

We got ours from Amazon. Searched “Disney rashguard” plenty to choose from.

Good Luck finding what you want!

I specifically looked for such shirts and didn't see any on either the Fantasy or Dream. Where I did get them is Ron Johns Cocco Beach. They're open 24 hours there and had them. So when we get in the night before our cruise we drive there and get any last minute beach stuff, since they're open 24 hours. Plus our hotel gives us a 10% off coupon which helps.

We cruise in Dec and have the same issues you have, trying to find beach stuff since all the stores in PA are out of stock by July.

Thanks for the responses everyone. Looks like my best bet is to just order something online and consider it a bonus if I find a disney specific one on the ship.

Hi all! We don't typically buy rashguards or SPF shirts for DD. Is there a specific reason we'd want one on a cruise? (For reference, we sail from Galveston in December.)

I will be getting a rash guard for both of my daughters (7 and 2) just as a way to protect a bit more skin from the sun. They are very pale and as you may know putting sunscreen on a toddler can be torture. :)

Especially on beach areas, like CC, the reflection from the water adds intensity to the amount of sun you're getting. Sunscreen works, but the rash guard provides even more protection.
