Okay, I'm sorry guys. I'm just soo mad right now.
---
So, this morning was fine. Got to sleep in an hour later than usual because I had a dentist appointment. So, then I get to school and the day goes fine. Then we get to the afternoon. I have a friend over, let's call her E. So, E and I are having sooo much fun taking pictures and tie dying etc. and then E logs into fb to start uploading some pictures and one of our friends sends her a message. and then said friend gets mad at E real bad real fast because of some issues with other friends. So then they kinda work it out, but are still a little mad at eachother and stuff. So then we go to the movies popcorn::. All is going well until the power goes out. So then everyone gets up and leaves (free movie passes because of the power outage) and we started walking towards target (in the mall..) and then the friend E was talking to earlier sees us and comes running up to us and says hi and stuff and so my parents and sister walked away and we started talking. Now, said friend has been out of school sick wednesday, half of thursday, and today. so when we say bye and stuff my dad goes "what's wrong with her?" and we're like "she's sickk..." and then he goes "then why is she at the mall?" and we go "we dunno"
so then we drop E off at home. that's when my parents exploded. they're all like "if friend (we'll call her L) has been sick these three days and now she's at the mall, we don't think her parents are very (forgot the word..) knowing of what she's doing etc. so don't be surprised if we don't let you go to her house or go to parties and stuff with her because she'll probably get into underage drinking and drugs." and then they kept going on and on about it.

what really ticks me off is the part about the drinking and drugs. I know that my friends would not do that because both of their families have had issues and stuff in the past with it. but my parents also think that I would do the drinking and drugs with them. no. I absolutely hate the idea of both.

Sorry. Had to get that off my chest.

I am proud of you for taking your anti-drinking/drugs stand so strongly.

I am with you 100%. If I can live 17 years without touching the stuff or even having the desire to, I know I can live the rest of my life without them.

All they do is damage your body, your family, and your social life. No thank you, no matter how much anyone tries to get me to do it.

Lol, I don't really think skipping class has a direct tie to drugs. Besides, you don't know her situation. Maybe she just felt better.

I hate it wen my parents assume tht i would ever drink

That's not ALL they do. I don't like it when people use "drugs." Because I take drugs. Yeah, I do. PRESCRIPTION drugs. Say "Illegal drugs" but don't just say drugs. It bugs me.

Plus, some illegal drugs actually do help you in some ways, but I'm not getting into that.

Anyways, to the OP, your mom is just being rational. That is honestly the first thing I think of when I think of someone skipping class. And honestly, there's a really good chance they are. Now, I totally think she shouldn't automatically assume YOU would, because you might not, and probably wouldn't, but she's just being safe.

Especially if she's cutting class multiple times in a row.

i don't drink, or do drugs. but i was a pro at skipping class in high school. i missed almost every friday of my second semester senior year. thats pretty irrational to assume that if i'm skipping class i'm drinking or doing drugs. :confused3

I don't believe there is a correlation between the girl cutting class and "illegal substances."
Just that it is good to stand behind what you believe in.

I don't know another term to describe illegal drugs....

nicole, i can totally relate.

my parents constantly accuse me of doing drugs, drinking, being sexually active, etc .

it's really annoying and i just want them to trust me.

i tell my mom like everything that goes on in my life & she still doesnt trust me :headache:

maybe i should just go do it all because it's not helping anything actually NOT doing i should give them something to REALLY worry about (; ahahha jk

Oh please.

1) Everyone knows that when people say 'drugs' they are talking about illegal substances and not prescription drugs. There's no reason you should be getting all offended.

2) I skipped classes a lot of high school, but I've never touched or even seen drugs. I was just bored in class and didn't feel like spending 8 hours learning things I already knew/didn't think was interesting. I wasn't a trouble maker by any means.

Stereotypes never get you anywhere.

Yeah. I honestly don't see the point of them.

Yeah. and my parents have only met her one time, so honestly they have no right to make judgements like that.

Uhg, I know. It's soooooo annoying.

haha, yeah. It is super annoying, especially when they don't trust you etc.
and now they're going to the extent of saying that they want me to make different friends and abandon E&L :/

Just say ILLEGAL DRUGS. But don't use the word "drugs" on its own, it bugs the **** out of me.

I'm SOOOOO very sorry, but I chuckled a bit. Just because you skip school doesn't mean you're going to start doing drugs, etc.

I don't mean to judge your friend or you, but I'm just gonna say.. you NEVER know how much people change when you get older.

All my really good friends in.. say the 6th grade all drink/smoke. It's not wrong to be friends with them, or even hangout with them. As long as you're not with them when they getting into all that.

My friends know that when they want to go out drinking not to even call me cause they know I won't go.

But, maybe you think now you KNOW your friends won't do it, but wait until you get old enough where they have actually been in that situation, where they had the chance to. Chance's are some of them will get into some of that.

Eh, I think it's more of her parents let her do what she wants. My parents have a very strict policy of 'You can't go to school/work you can't go hang out with your friends.'
And most of my friends parents don't care at all if their kids go out even though they called in sick to work/school.

Although, I'm assuming this happened on a Friday, my friend is allowed out on Fridays if she stayed home from school. It's kind of like yeah you were sick, but if you feel fine enough go have fun.
I mean staying home from school isn't exactly the most exciting thing ever.
