I think we should start an "overworked choir."
I don't work in IT and I don't envy those who do! From those of us who are really nice to our IT guys and do the steps BEFORE we call them for help (turn off/on, make sure it is plugged in everywhere, cntrl/alt/delete), I thank you all for your assistance and that of your SO's!
I am on call 24/7. When I get a call, even if I'm at Disneyland, I have to stop everything down and help my client. It doesn't matter if I'm sleeping, having dinner with my husband, whatever. I schedule stages for ADR and Foley, and frankly, most of the time what is a "dire emergency" is just someone who either forgot to plan ahead or they are looking for someone to blame.
My husband's patience is running out and I'm due for a raise in August. let's just see how that pans out before I am officially burned to a crisp.
