My rant.
Okay,so recently a classmate of mine was diagnosed with a brain tumor.I don't know this family's financial situation, but all I know is the parents are divorced, the 3 kids live with the mom, still see the dad,and the mom has to quit the job. This classmate is also a cheerleader, but comes off as very snobbish.
Well apparently the school is doing multiple fundraisers for this person.Another cheerleaders mom is making lollipops and selling them at 4 different schools. They're also selling candles and the cheerleaders are having another fundraiser. There is also going to be a charity basketball game. What are my problems you ask?
1)The school approached this person willing to do fundraisers, but never approached me for anything. They claim they "didn't know I was sick",and later we heard they "never had any approval" from my parents. HEELLLLOOOO!
How can you tell me you don't know I'm out of school with cancer when you sign my tutor papers?!
2)Lollipops were banned in school because they weren't part of the "healthy food program".Why should they bend the rules for a fundraiser?
Honestly,it's not really a big deal and not something I'm going to push. But yes,it does make me jealous.I AM JEALOUS.If the school is going to hold fundraisers for one sick child, they should do it for all sick children. And now some people are questioning the school why I never had any fundraisers and are pushing the fact that I should have a fundraiser.
Okay, sorry if that was way long or all over the place.
It's just upsetting because now whenever I hear about this,I'm going to think 'They chose to do something for that person but ignored me'.
