Is there even such a thing as an insurance company that DOESN'T Lie, cheat, steal, and mess up paperwork?
Of the several life insurance policies my dad had set up, 2 of them would still pay up despite the circumstances, or so they said.
The first one was through the company, and we've had a great guy here in the office who's been helping us with that paperwork and stuff. He helped us get it filled out, checked it to make sure everything was right, then overnighted it to the benefits office and said it'd be no more than 10 days.
Not quite 10 days later, my mom gets a letter in the mail stating that no beneficiary was selected so the insurance wouldn't pay.
Um, EXCUSE ME, yes, there was. We HAVE the form SHOWING that she was listed as beneficiary. We can go to the online options and information and SHOW where she's listed as beneficiary. She was listed in the forms and paperwork the guy here sent in. How the **** can they say no beneficiary was selected?
So we called our contact here and he said he'd get on it, that they've pulled this stunt twice already before and he'll get on their heels to get them to fix it NOW, and get her money to her sooner than the week+ delay the insurance company is trying to pull.
Why, why, WHY do these ******** think it's appropriate to find every little twist, turn, loophole, or way they can to cheat people out of their rightful money, especially in circumstances like this? Getting that letter really tore my mom apart yesterday and today, too. She was *almost* about to get her feet back under her when the jury duty thing hit and now this.
All I can say is I hope that every single person who pulls this kind of stunt gets it back at them 10-fold.
