"Discussing Fenway is easy.
The place is a dump. A Red Sox fan attending a game in a similar park in any other part of the country would be aghast at the lousy accommodations and exorbitant expense for fans. I know, the park is
historic, a
classic, etc etc. I repeat,
the place is a dump. The seats are incredibly
uncomfortable. They are
small, tightly packed and torturous. The Geneva Convention would brand having to sit through a game as torture and
no one, other than Red Sox fans, would argue.
Ahhh…but Fenway is a
goldmine. Red Sox fans are
lemmings and have attended and will continue to attend games for decades,
win or lose. And that is partly something good and admirable.
I like loyal fans. But the owners of the team, however many there have been in the last 90 years or whatever,
take advantage of this loyalty. Knowing that the fans will attend regardless of the conditions at the park, foist an inferior but “historic” venue on the fans. And the fans keep coming. Hey, if I could get you to live in my tenement and increase the rent to astronomical rates knowing you are addicted to my dump, I’d be pleased as could be. I’d even add a few more rooms or add a floor so I could charge even more.
And did I mention that Fenway is a dump?"
Not the article I read, but close enough, I guess.
I have read tons of reviews saying the seats are uncomfortable. But I think that's a stupid thing to complain about. They're just seats, you're not supposed to be focusing on how comfy your little seat it, you're supposed to be watching a baseball game. Man up. I do understand how annoying it is though when people are walking by making you stand up when you're trying to watch the game. A lot of people complain about that too. I can totally understand that. They should space the seats apart farther.
Loyal fans are the best

Eh, they're making money, so the owner's and people will keep pushing "history" down the fans' throats. Hello, do you see what the Yankee owner's do to us? While Boston is pushing "history" down their fans' throats, the Bronx is pushing "Wins and Money" down ours.
