Random thoughts from recent trip

 Hi Judy. And LOL, I have that same pact.

The best thing in the world is taking of my flip-flops and riding Soarin' barefoot! Especially in the front row!

Hey Back Tia! :)

My favorite flowers in the "partners" planter are the hydrangeas they use in the spring.

Bumping this thread so all of the people who recently returned, can add to the randomness.......

The Vegetarian Gumbo from Royal Street Veranda is my most favorite food at Disneyland.

I was incredibly disappointed in the Baby Care center. DS insisted he had to go #2 as we were leaving, and we were right near there, so I begged my way in (they were getting ready to close). ONE little toilet? ONE? And it had a half-door? And it was right in the space of someone changing their littler kid on a changing table??? So basically the diaper changer and I were touching bottoms, as he changed the dipe and I watched DS. Very disappointing. And ancient highchairs? Ick.

The First Aid center is great. We got two round of bandaids (even though they were more comfortable than the shoes had brought, breaking in brand new Crocs purchased at DCA is still going to involve blisters, especially when you get them soaked on Splash) for DH, and headache care for me (ice pack and ibuprofen), and another ice pack for my foot on our last day. Considering I never knew where the place even was before this trip, we became quite close to the staff!

If you have a new purchase stolen, try to get that info to a Lead. They have the ability to make it right.

The fireworks are amazing. From IASW was so great I don't know I'll ever feel the need to experiment with seeing them from the castle.

Although we barely scratched the surface of DCA, we really loved it there.

I'm so glad I brought a change of clothes (down to underwear) for DS for the day he played in the water-spray area at DCA. Wish I'd thought to bring a towel and shoes, but a CM's advice to use the changing table pads was good, and DS needed new shoes anyway. :upsidedow

I'm sure I'll think of other things.

Frozen lemonade is delicious!!! I had my first one on Fri-Sept 21 :) Are they good with the flavours added??

I LOVE that my kids got some very individual attention from Jack Sparrow on the island! They were just hanging back and quietly watching, not expecting to be noticed....he approached them, and they probably got more time than any other kids there....it was SO exciting! He was a great Jack!

The pirate band on the island are fantastic!

The woman singing in the purple dress in NOS was AMAZING!!!! On our first day (Wed, Sept. 19) the actress was sooooo much better than the one on days following. She had the smoothest, sweetest, most authentic voice...still sticks in my mind! And gorgeous...my goodness!

Jedi Training Academy was one of the lights of my sons' trip. He was almost not chosen, but then his dad held him way up high above his head! He got to fight Darth Maul...and it was fantastic! He really put his little heart into it

Disneyland makes me cry...I'm sooo sentimental. I was a little choked up at so many times during our visit...and the fireworks made be bawl like a baby!

We ARE going back again as soon as possible....just need to figure out a way to raise the money! I didn't get to see Fantasmic....and sooo many other things! I thought I wanted it badly before this trip...well...it's 10 times WORSE now!!!

I  Disneyland!

I love the mosaic wall in DCA--the one with all the fun little things stuck into it, like glass fruit and teacups...no one else I've ever mentioned it to even remembers it. I took about 8 pictures of it with dreams of doing a wall in my girls' room :cutie:

I could ride ToT over and over and over and over. It's not just the ride, it's the experience, which is the secret of Disney success, I believe. Anyway, I LOVE the old Hollywood theme.

I will miss the Muppet theater.

I'm glad they're infusing a lot of money into DCA for improvements. I do love it, but there are whole sections of it that are, well, lacking and large portions that are basically wasted.

I love DL at night!!! Especially Main Street. That's my favorite shopping time.

The rocket ride is a travesty. I liked the old one so much better. I even liked the funky trip to the moon better.

I love taking a rest on the Mark Twain paddleboat.

I love eating on the deck by Hungry Bear, back where few people go.

I miss a shop that used to be in NOS that sold all kinds of interesting things, things you didn't see elsewhere. I once bought a Royal Doulton porcelain cheshire cat there, as well as a kitschy gold parrot and a cool Marriage Certificate scroll.

I love the Jungle Cruise but have to admit that I'm really tired of the script.

I wish they'd bring back the Tahitian Terrace dining/show

I don't really get the autograph book thing :confused3

I wish you could meet Tinkerbell somehow, like maybe Fairy Talk with Tink, like Turtle Talk with Crush.

I love the tingles I get when I enter the park. Heck, when I leave the house. Oh, okay, when I'm planning the trip! It's just magic, pure and simple. I feel sorry of those who don't feel it :cloud9: :wizard:

We like the PPH better than the DLH.

Pirates is WAY better at DL compared to WDW.

LOVED WDW! Lots of variety there, from the parks, to the AWESOME resorts, to the restaurants.

I can't believe there's ONLY going to be 50 2-bedroom "equivalent" DVC units at the GCH! NOT HAPPY AT ALL!

It sucks when the monorail is closed if you're staying at the DLH or the PPH.

Can't wait to ride Nemo in a few weeks!

Boy, it sure is a loooooooong flight to Orlando.

The Jungle Cruise at WDW is cool.

Is it just me, or do Disney vacations cost way more than they did a couple of years ago?

I love NOS and Adventureland at DL!

My DS 8 has been on Star Tours about 90 times and will add to that this October.

The "snow" from Believe takes my breath away even though I am from Canada. I could ride soarin a thousand times...I always dreamed I could fly as a kid. Needless to say LOVE Peter Pans Flight!

Needless to say LOVE Peter Pans Flight!

I really enjoyed that ride, too!

I don't really get the autograph book thing :confused3

I don't either. DH does, however (he's a comic book kinda guy), and he was the one who took DS to meet Buzz. I don't know how much urging there was, but when I was done with Space Mtn, DS wanted an autograph book. Peer pressure or Papa pressure, I'll never know. :upsidedow

In the companies DH and I have worked for, a Lead is the person right above the regular employees. It might be a higher position at Disney, I don't know. But Mr Leo who works at IASW told me that getting the attention of a lead would help, and then he got DS's loss to the attention of a lead, and we were taken care of. :)

DH and I start every trip to DL by riding Pirates. SO much better than the one at WDW.

We love sitting on the patio at the Plaza Inn watching the parade, or just people watching and taking it all in.

I love Dole Whip. Seriously. Addiction at it's best.

The margaritas at DCA are great to share while walking around the park.

I also love the woman in the purple dress in NOS, I had my picture taken with her on our last trip. She's incredible!

Monte Cristo sandwiches and the fries at Cafe Orleans....on the patio overlooking Pirate Island.

I am one of the people that cries every time I walk under the railroad tracks and onto Main St. And the fireworks are even worse! Get me a box of tissues!

I LOVE ToT. My DH isn't too sure about it, but I could ride it several times in a row and be happy.

We just love everything about DL. Even if you don't get to ride the rides, it's just so nice to be there. It's just the feeling you get when you are there that's special to us.

For those of you hunting out the cool bathroom themes: People will look at you funny when you take pictures in the bathroom.

Even if you wait until you think it's empty and all the doors are closed, somebody will pop out unexpectedly and look like this:

I just thought you should know. Consider it my Public Service Announcement of the day.

Still hoping to get a shot of all the closed stall doors in the Queen of Hearts bathroom by the Alice in Wonderland ride... :rolleyes1

That's another thing....I still can't get over the fact that you are sent to Hell on a Disney ride ! Gives me giggles......

OMG! I love that part of Mr Toad's... My DS(6) always says to me "Mommy, we are in the H word now". I laugh and say yes honey, we are in hell... :rotfl2:

I personally love the bathrooms in fantasyland...

I am a barefoot Soarin' rider too.. :upsidedow

I prefer to take the path to the left of the castle and go thru the tunnel to get into fantasyland.

I love margarita's and have never had one at DCA. I will definately have to try one next time but it still wont get me on TOT! Not unless someone in front of me wants to wear it...
