I'll just add a random as this was a double post.

Sure you're surviving! Once you get into it, it just gets easier. I'm sure it's a bit tougher for you since you still have a little one at home who probably stops you from time to time. I remember those days........

yes indeed.........it hasn't been that bad during summer........they usually go outside & play in the backyard

During the day, I take short breaks in between cleaning, cooking, laundry and visit so I don't have as much to catch up on.
My day was good. Most of my days are similar. It's what I'm used to.

routine is very good IMO........work sometimes is a little nuts, but w/ my new job, I'm out the door & for the most part I can clear my mind & leave it there.......certainly no interuptions at home anymore & that is wonderful

I was gonna say I feel so dirty, but in case the TF was watching I decided that naughty was a better choice!

Today me and middle DD went shopping (well, KMart) and they had Bratz sheets on sale, and pillowcases (extra ones) were only $2. So DD says we should do a "while you were out" for youngest DD and redo her room (which was juvenile and mismatched with hand me downs.
So we got the bratz sheets for $12, three extra cases which I made into curtains (I am SO Martha Stewart today) and the comforter for $24, so for under 50 dollars, a brand new Bratz room!
I washed the sheets and we fixed it up to surprise her. She was ecstatic.

that is very cool! So Martha- how does one make curtains out of pillow cases? that would be very cool I think.......do tell

OMG so you now how you can have the boards send you emails when the threads you are subscribed to have a new post? Well I usually just change them to no email reminder...but I forgot to do that for this thread and right now I have over 800 emails

Thanks! She can probably ask for $5 an hour as a beginner. I was 12 when I started watching kids, too. Somehow I imagine myself as much older than she is at 12, though..........

that's what I think......gosh 12..........that seems so young now.........

hey everyone! First time checking in today! Shocking, I know! I am craving Chinese food in the worst way today but we all know what happened last time I had Chinese....

I am just checking back in really late....we went to McD's for fries and milkshakes, and then picked up DS, and then sat outside with neighbors till really late..........

DD has cafe style curtains, a top rod and a middle one.
I split the pillow cases along the seams (actually used my seam ripper and undid them) then cut in half, rehemmed raw edges and made a casing along the top for the rod. So the top half of the curtains are like four pillowcase fronts, arranged lenghtwise. Then at the bottom, I hemmed the other way, made a casing on the short side of the rectangle so they hang longer. They are actually darn cute.

I didn't do tab tops like the photo, but it was the closest photo to the kind of curtains. My top pieces are a bit longer than this.

I am logging off now, guess i have to wait til tomorrow to see if Pad hits the big 2 zero zero zero.

DH is off tomorrow, we are getting a truck and in laws are giving us their boat, which we have been out on exactly one time in 21 years of marriage...but it is free.......and DH thinks he may take up fishing with the kids in his non ball time if he has his own boat.......so we are getting a truck with which to pull said free boat. I guess minivan's look stupid pulling boats??

Anyway, the Am will be spent at the car dealership doing all that fun paperwork and spending money......which gives me a headache usually (the money part!).

So, don't have too much random fun without me during the day.....I will hope for someone to chat with in the evening!
