Random question - do Disney resorts put room charges under your door on the last day?

Totally random question, but I'm weirded out by some members of our group seeing a summary of charges for the trip - do Disney Resorts do the old school "putting your final charges under your door on the last day" thing? And if so, does that include everything (if it's a package - park tickets, meal plan, etc.) or just the room charges? I'm hoping not to stress about catching it first and stashing it away before others see that a trip to Disney actually costs, I dunno, a gazillion dollars! (I may also gift my parents a meal plan under the pretense of it being a 'free' part of a vacation package, as they refuse to let others pay for anything but, seriously, have to retire at some point!)

Don't worry they do not - not at the resorts I have stayed at. Mostly I get them emailed to me. I would make sure they have your email address.

No worries. It's been 4-5 years since they slid the folio under our door, just email. And even when they did, it just showed whatever we charged to the room.

FYI I see the charges on my cell phone app (the room, room taxes, other charges, etc.). I don't know if it would appear on your Family & Friends, if they use the app too. Just mentioning that - if you don't want them to see, and they do use the MDE app, hopefully someone else will chime in.

ETA on the cell app, the charges are ongoing - i.e., when I was there in April they updated daily (well I didn't check daily, but it was up to date each time I checked), with any charges I made for meals etc. on my MB. And just now I looked under "View Charges", under 'details' for my August 2018 onsite stay that I booked directly at disney's site. I can see the total cost, the total I have paid thus far, and the daily hotel charges broken down by tax and room rate. (But, for our 2nd August stay, which we booked via travel agent, the "view charges" option isn't there and I can't see any charges.)

If we are changing resorts and moving to a second one, we check out physically from the first and they often offer a copy of the bill or they can email. We usually get the email very shortly after we check out. When we check out of our last resort, we don't physically check out at the front desk and still get the bill emailed to us.

Whew, good to know that it's over email now in most resorts - I will double check with them at check-in to make sure!

It's been a 50/50 shot that you'll get the email nowadays as well. On the odd occasion when they have left paper copies in the past, it was put on the exterior door handle in the middle of the night. So you can breath easier on checkout day, make an excuse to open door to "check weather" or something to make sure nothing is there. About a 99.9% chance nothing will be there, but it would probably ease your mind to check. If you don't get an email, you can send an email to guest services and they will send you your folio. Anything charged on check out day may or may not get emailed to you the next day.

While I haven't gotten a paper copy myself in about a year, I have seen the envelopes hanging on the door as recently as March of this year. Not a lot, but 1 or 2. Might be folks that don't give them an email address.

Some of those might have been Magical Express paperwork.

Depends on what you have set up with Disney. If you have the account through the internet or on your phone and you have you resort stay linked, you won't get anything at the room. If you went through the front desk when you checked in you might get it. We have not received one on our last five or six trips but we check in in advance and they have a phone number (my cell) and an e-mail address (mine) so all of that comes through those channels. We even get our room number before we arrive via a text. The only thing we get on the door is our boarding passes and our ME letter with pick up time.

That would have been Magic Express paperwork, not room charges.

I have not had room changes slipped under my door in years, but I have had my ME paperwork in an envelope.

Love this. I have been working on a plan to get my Mom to Disney again sometime in the next few years and I was planning to get her Dining and tell her it's free because otherwise she would't let me pay for her meals.
She'd rather bring PB&J than "cost me money"

Aren't Moms funny that way?

Lol, oh moms! (and dads!) Glad I'm not the only one who had this thought, I feel bad about, er, bending the truth, but they will insist on paying for literally everything for the whole family otherwise!
