I'm so amazingly happy! I'm going to california this weekend since my mother has the sudden overwhelming urge to see the beach. In exchange for me driving her to OC she has agreed to a one day trip to DLR!

I've already booked a room and I will get a one day hopper at the gate, but I have a few questions.

1. Is it possible to see the electrical parade and then make a mad dash to main street to see the fireworks?

2. It has been years since I bought tickets at the main ticket booths. What time do they open?

Thanks for your help!

Yes you can see the EP, fireworks and F! if you'd like. We did it last month ~ http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2232766

Why not purchase an eticket ~ my mom and brother did that in March, they purchased 1 day hoppers from here ~ https://tickets.disney.go.com/buy/T...wtbjyX1JNqm2RYqU41yNIgAIeIiRK2oKPx3IWWxP2YrM= ~ take your printout directly to the turn style, it's scanned and your ticket is printed right there. Perhaps you should look at upgrading this ticket to an AP if you're still going for a visit in 53 days?? What hotel did you get ~ I was able to get the ent. rate at HoJos the day before our 1 day visit (we stayed 2 nights).

How fun!!! Enjoy your day:) if you do see ELP be sure you are close to the gates of DCA we made the mistake of watching by the orange stinger at the beginning of the parade, and got stuck behind it trying to get out to see the fireworks. Ugh... We saw them from the esplanade just in time. Not great views but it worked lol
have fun! :)

After some thought I have decided how to handle my dilemas.

I have decided to purchase the e-ticket, I totally forgot you could do that. As far as upgrading to an AP, I have considered it but I just can't afford the extra cost right now. I was planning on upgrading in Sept.

I have also decided that on friday, after spending the day at Newport Beach, my mother and I will go to Downtown Disney for dinner at ESPN zone and watch the fireworks from the Esplanade. That way when we go to the parks on saturday, we can use the time the fireworks are playing to do something else, provided we can squeeze down main street. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Even though I am only getting one day, I still can't wait.

I'm also looking forward to going to Newport beach. I have not been to a beach in years.

it is possible to watch the MSEP and see the fireworks from inside Disneyland. On July 3, 2009 I watched the MSEP from right by the construction of the new Little Mermaid ride (SF Palace of Fine Arts). As soon as the parade ended, I walked with purpose (do not run) straight behind me, taking a right at GRR and headed straight for the park exit. Since you're alone, you can more easily maneuver through crowds. I was on Main Street part of the way up before the fireworks started.

The key is to be out of DCA before the parade ends. Once it ends the masses will exit the park and you'll get clogged up twice, once when you try to leave and when you try to enter Disneyland.

Watching from over by what will be the Little Mermaid ride means that you have a head start on everybody still watching the parade. You must beat the crowds out of the park. If possible, try watching the MSEP from 5 rows back to book it out of there after the parade ends.

While some, including CMs, will tell you to watch from the Golden Gate bridge area because it's closest to the exit and entrance, the problem is that the parade starts there later than it does from Paradise Pier.

I've tried the parade from there once and saw very little of the fireworks. I've watched from the new Little Mermaid ride area twice and pulled it off both times.
