Random HHI questions

We are leaving Friday and are super excited!

Can you tell me if:
1) you get refillable mug- can you use at beach house too?
2) Will pizza places deliver?
3) can you see fireworks from the resort?
4) Are their Mickey Ice Cream treats there?

When you purchase the mug, you can refill it @ the resort & @ the beach house. There is a small store where you can purchase some groceries, mickey treats & sundries, along w/Disney items. You can "borrow" Disney DVD's free of charge to use in your villa too!!! Yes, the pizza places deliver...we call Giuseppies & they have great pizza & a full italian menu as well. No fireworks at the resort but we saw them New Year's Eve across the marsh from the mainland. They do have a fabulous firepit & marshmallow roast some nights @ 7 p.m. with songs & laughter! One of the favs! You will adore HHI resort! The recreation staff is awesome & don't miss seeing "Shadow" the real dog w/Blue Crabbe! Enjoy & hope this helps!

We love the buildings by the pier/pool/marsh views are fabulous:# 27, #29 & #31. They are next to the store, drink refill station, recreation window, pool, shuffle board, etc... My DS is now 12 & can come/go as he likes. You can't go wrong w/ any bldg near that area.

I will be there Thurs/Fri/Sat w/DS for a short birthday getaway! My b-day is Sat June 2nd. Hope we see you there!

The town does fireworks every tues or wed night (starting sometime late spring or early summer) in the marsh at the resort. If you have a marsh view you can watch them from your balcony.

We plan on eating at some of the following:

One Hot Mama's
Skull Creek
Kingfisher
Eddie B's
Skillets (maybe for breakfast)
Sea Shack

We thought about doing a day trip to Savannah- is it worth it??

Can you walk to Shelter Cove to eat and or catch the fireworks?

We are driving down Friday, staying on the way. Then staying at Comfort Inn Saturday before moving over to DVC. We are so excited!!!

Just to let you know, the fireworks do not start until Tues. June 19th this year.

Also to let you know Disney is in the "Shelter Cove" part of the Palmetto Dunes Plantation. But I think you are talking about the marina and yes it is a very easy walk. There are a bunch of restaurants and cute shops there.

There are a bunch more shops in the Coligny Beach area too which is more south on the island before you get to Sea Pines.

Personally we have such a good time in HHI we don't leave the island. However we are there later June and live on the beach a good portion of the time and also do many of the activities. But if you are not so much into the beach or its chilly a drive into Savannah might be fun.

You should definitely take the drive to Savannah and take at least one of the tours, so much history there. I have been to Savannah 6 times and haven't gotten tired of it. We will be in HHI in mid July and plan on taking a day trip over.
