Hello, or as the French say, Bonjour!
I have been studying the French language for a year and my class is going to France this summer. If there is time, we may stop at DLP. But, if we do it will be in the evening. So my questions are what time does DLP usually close in July? Also, how crowded is it normally in July? I realize that it is the summer and I should expect summer crowds, but is it ridiculously packed in the summer?
Also, what is the fireworks show at night, if there is one? I've only been to Walt Disney World in Florida where at the Magic Kingdom they have Wishes! for their nighttime fireworks show.
Basically, I'd appreciate and advice, facts, amd tips you have about DLP.
Thank you for your time.

going in the evening may be a little time tight if you are not staying on site. There are EMH for on site guests, so if you are onsite you would definitely be better off using this benefit. But don't expect it to be like at WDW where the MK closes at 11pm and EMH runs until 2am - more like DLRP closing at 9pm or 10pm. I believe that EMH there is 2 hours, but someone else will be along to confirm.

Fireworks are severely restricted at DLRP, so don't expect a full show every night. Usually there is a version of Wishes in peak season, but it has fewer fireworks than in WDW, from what I can see.

That doesn't mean that the nighttime shows are not as good at DLRP, they are in fact often more magical than some of the ones I have seen in America.

Take a look at some of the more recent threads - jillrobinson I believe posted a link to the download of www.dlrp.fr of the current show.

Here is a thread on Candleabration http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1422249 And here is a thread about the American vs French parks

hope that helps!

Thank You so much for the help!
I'd love to stay on-site, but as previously stated, I'll be lucky if I get to go at all, for a maximum of 4 hours if I'm lucky. I know that is not long enough to do everything, but I'm mainly going to say that I've been and enjoy the ambiance. Does anyone have any information about DLP crowds in July?
Thanks!

From mid July to last week of August the park is usually open late ie 2300.

Avoid weekends and Bastille Day at all costs. Much of France has all of August for holiday (remember, we have much more holiday time in Europe than in America) so you may find that the July dates are slightly less crowded.

July can be HOT. Last year in June we had a heat wave in Germany - up to 40 degrees on many days. And there is far less airconditioning in Europe than in America, so plan to dress accordingly.

Hi DisneyGirlie :wave2: As bavaria said the longer hours come into play after Bastille Day but so do the crowds. I think the park will be less crowded before that day, especially midweek.
but I'm mainly going to say that I've been and enjoy the ambiance.
If you go with that attitude I'm sure you will enjoy yourself. :goodvibes

Make sure you visit the Castle, it is very beautiful. There is a lovely set of stained glass windows in the gallery upstairs and DLRP is unique in having a resident dragon underneath!

Hi DisneyGirlie and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, posting guidelines can be found here and details regarding help on signatures here

As others have said if you go with the right attitude I'm sure you will enjoy your few hours at the park :goodvibes

You all have been such a great help!
I appreciate it very much!
We'll see what happens with the crowd situation because I don't have a set night that I'm planning on going, I just know its in July. Besides, if I'm just there to walk around, soak in the atmosphere, and maybe do a couple of rides, crowds shouldn't matter that much. Its when you want to ride a lot of rides that crowds can present a problem.
I'm so excited to just experience DLP, even if its for short while and you all have made me even more excited with all the great information!
Thank You.

If I may be very honest, I wouldn't go for just 4 evening hours. First of all, it's rather expensive for 4 hours, and it will be very crowded.
Paying a ticket for doing one ride and seeing one show? As much as I love Disney... no, I wouldn't do that.
