Random Discount?

So has anyone experienced the situation where you call in to Disney and you're pricing out some different things, when suddenly they say they can get you a random discount? For no reason?

It happened to me today when I was trying out some value resorts, though I told her no All-Star Sports but then she suddenly announced that a random discount was on Sports, with 7 day park hopper and DDP with QS was offered to me for $200 cheaper than the same plan except at POP.

Has this happened before to any of you? She said she saw it maybe once or twice a week to people's price quotes. I discussed it for a while but then learned I would not be able to modify it (though I could upgrade it), which meant it would not work for me, just in case my little sisters decided to come.

Was this a big scam to get me to book a package or what??
:confused3

That has happened to me twice in the last 3 weeks when I was pricing out our Easter week vacation. I called because I was really hoping I had the FD PIN but decided to just play along and have them price some rooms for me. I was pricing POP when they offered me POR for only $20 more per night than POP. Then again the other day I was pricing out POP and they offered me the POLY for a great rate, however it was still way out of my league at about $350/night. I currently have reservations offsite because I refuse to pay $165a night for a value hotel when I can stay at the Hilton DTD for $89 with much nicer amenities, more room and still get the extra magic hours.

That being said, if I was offered the FD PIN I would book onsite in a heartbeat! I do find it very interesting that they are trying to upsell you while on the phone.

That's hilarious because I was doing the same exact thing when I got this random deal!

I probably would be staying off resort as well if I didn't find a $73/per night deal at All-Star Music.

Let's hope we get those PINs!
:goodvibes

Well I just called because I noticed some more room categories were missing during my dates (secret sale perhaps??) and I got a big fat ZERO! nothing. I am jinxed as far as codes and pins go. :headache:

This can only mean that people are paying crazy amounts of money for rooms. I dunno, $548 for BWI std CL? I'm not jumping on that one. :rolleyes1
