Random DCL Questions

How do you pre pay the tips in advance? Do I call DCL and do it over the phone?

If I don't pre pay, doesn't Disney automatically charge my room for tips, and then I would pay this at guest services before getting off the ship?

Easy to do so in advance, just call Disney. Your TA can do that for you, just call them (hope you used a TA that accepts phone calls).

Either way ("prepay" or not), they are charged to your onboard account, and at the end of the cruise the balance of the account is charged to your credit card on file. So you don't go to GS to pay. So, really, prepaying tips is just adding to how much of your balance you've paid in advance, so when they are charged to your onboard account, if you "prepaid" you just have an existing "credit" that pays them off. In fact, you can ask DCL for a larger "credit" on your account up front (charged to your credit card). It's all the same in the end. And there is nothing about your cruise that will require you to ever visit GS. They handle the exceptions, the unusual interactions. I'm not sure we've ever needed to visit GS for anything.

What's the dinning attire like? Is there a night where it's dressier than others? I'm cruising on Dream 4 day.

Tips;

Whether you prepay or not, you can add $$, or deduct $$, to said tips at Guest Services at any time.
You may use cash or your Credit Card on file, or a new one, if presented, to add or deduct tips.
IOW, you can go to Guest Services and add a tip amount to any position, charge it to you Credit Card on file, and walk away. Just make sure it is the correct name for the position. You will be issued new coupons.
You don't have to use cash as everyone discusses.

In fact, if you verify the name, you don't even have to give the receipt/coupon to said individual.
If the name is correct, they will get their tip regardless, as usual at the end of the sailing. Even if you fail to give the coupons to said CM's

If you prepay ahead of time, and don't visit Guest Services then you will receive coupons for such. And your CM's will receive said tips.

If you go the Guest Services and modify you will get new coupons.

Some crew members feel it's best to have all monies applied to there account aboard.
IOW , have the monies applied to the banking system aboard so they don't have to deal with cash.
Then they can direct the monies in their account however they like. Often overseas, back home.

IOW, I recommend adding tips to the on-board account (not cash) so the CM's can distribute the $$ however they prefer.
