Resort booked. ADRs booked. Plane tixs will be booked this week.

And I keep on wishing I had more to plan. LOL!

We leave mid-August. I have no idea if I can make it that long with nothing to do. :rotfl2:

Make a countdown chain.

Plan Disney dinners with a movie once a week.

Design matching shirts for your family.

Make your own autograph books.

Put together little gifts for your family for each day of the trip.

Make a touring plan.

Look at the Food Porn site & start dreaming about what you'll order at each of your ADRs.

Make invitations for your kids to each of the ADRs.

Trust me, you can stay busy! :thumbsup2

Don't plan every minute. It is a vacation!! Just let it happen and go with the flow. You will have a great time!

We did make a countdown chain when the boys were younger. I admit it's fun.

Yes!! also:

inspect your luggage - do you need any new pieces

practice your quick draw w/your camera

break in new shoes

haunt the Disney Store for t-shirts and bathing suits

stock up on sunscreen, spray bottles, moisture wicking socks, dollar store ponchos, memory cards, neck coolers, etc.

search for the ultimate Disney bag (review Bagallinni, Overland Donner, Vera Bradley hipster, etc)

ETA: I am not being snarky...I do this too!!

OMG!! I so understand your problem.

I have booked the room and plane
I made all the ADR's
Booked the fireworks cruise and a pirate cruise for ds 8
I made the limo ressie and a rental van ressie too (please, don't ask- trust me :) )
I ordered the b-day cake for dd's 3rd b-day
I booked my segway tour
I made the countdown chain
I have the touring plan almost filled in.
I even ordered baskets from the florist for all the kids for the first night.

It is 80ish days until we go and I just got out the toiletries bag to check it for needed replacements.

I am going to lose it with nothing to plan in the next few months.
Half of the above plans stem from too much time to plan ;)
:)

How about planning on how you're going to decorate the room....? Anything extra to make it special for the kids.

I already have all of our tolietries in a box, new clothes that won't be worn until the trip in a box, all our luggage in the closet ready to get out. The weekend before we go I will wash everything and we can pack!

How old are your kids? I put together a travel journal for my son to fill in on the trip...I think it was on a website (??) that already had the pages designed, I just printed out which ones I needed.

Also, for the Obsessive/Compulsive planner, I made a folder for each park, with my TGM plans for that park, any menus that we were thinking about, snack ideas, parade hints. You name it, it was all in one handy folder. I also made a general/resort folder for that info, and it held a master plan with all of our ADR #'s on it, with parade times and park hours.

I must have used a ream of paper to print all of the info, plus at least one printer ink cartridge, but since we opted not to take the laptop, it was nice to have all of my info handy.

And, as one PP mentioned, there is always just looking at the Food porn threads, and constantly changing your ADR'S :rotfl2: I think that by the time we left, my DH didn't even want to hear about our plans...he said just tell me where to be, and we will get there then!

Time to go shopping!!! I am in the amasing outfits stage of the trip planning.

Me too! Me too!

I've booked the trip
Made ADRs
Filled out the Passporter
Made the touring plan (complete with notations on what menu items and snacks I'd like to try)
Made a countdown chain
Made a countdown calendar with the Mickey heads from Home Depot
Made "Need to buy" lists (and started buying)
Made packing lists
Made lists of tips and tricks
Scoured the Food Porn thread and the restaurant reviews board

I too am driving my DH up the wall. If there's a lull in conversation, I fill the need to fill it with mroe Disney talk. We're not even going until October! We've invited my inlaws to join us on the trip (my parents too, but I'm pretty sure they're not going). ILs won't know for another week or two if they can go for sure, and I'm dying to know! We all get along really well, and I'd love for them to be able to see DD's first Disney trip, but I want to take their plans into account and change any ADR's that I'll need to.

I guess I could focus on redoubling my efforts to lose weight before the trip. :scared:

I am so glad to know that I am not the only one who cannot speak of anything but Disney. I am driving not only my DH crazy with all my Disney talk...but I think I'm boring my kids!! LOL My DD is 16...so any conversation with mom...is a bore...lol. But I truly am glad to know that it's okay to plan this far out (Novermber for us!) and it's okay to start purchasing for the trip...it's okay, it's okay...I am normal...lol...I just have to keep telling myself and this board makes me feel good that I am!!! Thanks everyone!!!

We don't leave until October either (and it's now official...I got my signed time off request form back today!), and I'm still finding all sorts of fun things to do to help pass the time!

I've become a HUGE fan of the Creative DISigns board, and am currently downloading images to make T-shirts for myself, DH, and DS7. Since we'll need nine days' worth of shirts (I don't believe in doing laundry while on vacation), that'll keep me plenty busy in the days leading up to our trip!

We're driving to WDW, so I'm researching fun things to do on road trips...

I'm stocking our "Disney Box O' Fun" for our road trip. I make it a point on each pay period to buy something for the box. So far, I have the Cinderella, Little Mermaid, and Surf's Up DVDs, Disney Fruit Snacks (Cars and Nemo), and two mini-remote controls cars I got at the Disney Store for $2 each. Some items will be given to DS during the road trip, and others will go in the Tink gift bags I'll be making up...

I'm also working on workbooks for DS, since we'll be pulling him out of school for six days (our last day is Columbus Day, so he'll already be off school). I'm scouring boards and books for pages and will most likely have several reams of sheets by the time we leave! This doesn't include whatever his 2nd grade teacher will be giving him (if anything)...

I've compiled and will be printing a bunch of autograph cards (thanks to the many DISigners!). These will be going into an accordian folder and we can pull them out for signatures. This way, they'll be organized for the scrapbook/autograph book I'll be putting together after the trip. Same thing for the Epcot Passport. I'll also be printing out a WDW journal for DS to complete while we're in WDW. These items will most likely end up as a school project for DS...

We're going through our luggage and seeing what else we may need to order from DH's workplace (he works for a luggage/sports bag company and gets a SWEET discount!)...

DH is readying the camcorder and debating whether to use ours (which is a mini-DVD recorder and only records 30 minutes at a time) or borrow may parents' camcorder (which is an 8MM and records 90 minutes, but lacks the digital feature). He and I are also arguing about getting a second digital camera for the trip, but I think I may have figured a way around this one where he CAN'T fight back (how can he oppose something that's free?)...

Since our summers are SO jam-packed with activities, we're trying to get stuff done here and there rather than trying to cram it all into a couple of weeks. Plus, I'll be back in school in the fall, so I'll be losing 2-3 nights a week and a good chunk of my Saturdays come the last week of August.

And yes, DH thinks I'm absolutely nuts... :faint:

It's definitely okay to start purchasing this far out...it's better to start now so things are more spread out. That's what I used to reason with DH ::yes::

I so could have written your post. I have everything planned out. Resort booked, rebooked, and rebooked third and final time. Plane tickets, check, park tickets, check, ADR's check, suit cases, ready to be packed, outfits choosen check, autograph book ready to be made (I'll design it once school lets out, I'm a teacher), shirt designs to come after school lets out also, plane activities for dd check. Although there are things to be done, I need more.:(

I am hoping someone can help me find the creative DIS-signs board -- I have looked everywhere and I am clueless! Thanks!
