Hi. I am new to the boards. I am taking my 3 grandkids to Disneyland from Dec 9 to Dec 13th along with my daughter (their aunt). The youngest, 6 yr old grandson wants to go to Surf's Up with Mickey & Friends for breakfast. How long would it take and what route would be best to walk from Ramada Maingate on Harbor Blvd. to PPH. Assume walking along the Esplanade through Downtown Disney but figured the people on this board are so knowledgeable, maybe there's a shorter way. Our reservations are at 7 AM Fri Dec 10th.

Would it be better to take a taxi?? We live in Colorado and the kids are used to hiking with Mom and Dad on weekends so walking wouldn't be a problem but may take too long.

I'd appreciate your help.

I would say 20 minutes. But this is a little on the long side. I'm guessing with the young and old it could be a slow walk.

But I would consider walking through the GCH it cuts off a few minutes.

I agree, the 20 minutes is about right. Your best route is through to walk through the plaza between the parks, then into Downtown Disney. At Disney 365 there is an entrance to GCH, go in there and walk through the lobby (is should be all decked out for Christmas, an added bonus). Then follow the sidewalk to the left, it will take you right to PPH. Looks like it will be about 3/4 of a mile, not too long a walk.

Thank you both so much. The tip about cutting through the GCH is great and something we wouldn't have known to do. Now I just have to get two teenage girls out of the bathroom by 6:30 AM. Not an easy chore!!
