Any reviews...comments...suggestions?

We are on an unexpectedly tighter budget and had to downgrade from the Radisson - and went with the Ramada Eastgate based on the special linked on this board ($39/night).

They have a balcony on all rooms...which I like the idea of.

Is there anything icky about this place that we should be aware of/mindful of? How are the pools? (they list a kids pool and a heated outdoor pool)...plus a private lake with gazebo and swing, hot tub, putting green, etc...and two restaurants.

Any advice or hints?

Thanks.

Ive stayed here and its alright. You are correct rooms have there own balconies and the entrance is from the inside as opposed to a motel room. The rooms are clean and adequate. I did not go to the pool.

Why not have a look at the new Calyso Cay resort which is the Amerisuites LBV and Country Inn Suites. Both built in the last 2 years. I have been tracking trip reports on these as they are in my final 4. Reports have been very favourable. Look on Tripadvisor and do a search on these boards.

www.hotelkingdom.com has suites at $43.88 and a continental breakfast is included. It looks pretty good to me and the position on the Osceala Parkway means easy travelling into Disney.

Good Luck

Thanks for the info. :)

So - the rooms...were there some that were newly-remodeled or anything in particular we should ask for?

How were the balconies? Big enough for two adults to be out there comfortably? Were there chairs? How clean was it? Were the blankets and sheets okay?

Thanks again!! :)

:Pinkbounc :bounce: YAHOO!!

They just called me and are upgrading our room to a Family Suite as a complimentary gift for us honeymooning/DD's birthday!!!

I'm thrilled!!!! (Our original reservations were with Holiday Inn Family Suites and I know the girls will LOOOOVE bunkbeds - but both will sleep on bottom bunk if I have anything to say about it!)

I stayed there in 1998 so I would not be able to say how the rooms are now, however my DH and his Golfing buddy stayed there in June this year. His friend said the hotel was fantastic...well I would not go that far as I have stayed in fantastic in Las Vegas so its obviously what you are used to...however it is certainly not bad for the money and from what i can recall the balcony is quite big.

The main advantage at that price is the internal corriders because at that price you would usually get a motel type accommodation.

It also has good placing on the 192 its on the corner where Ponciana Boul. crosses the 192 and my DH states that they walked to Old Town from there. One direction will be the Wall Mart near Medieval Times and the other Old Town where you will find the Ponderosa, Checkers Burgers and Western Steer.

If you have now been upgraded to a suite for that money then that is fantastic and good value for the money.

DH friend said he loved the pool as Ive just checked with him...again its what you are used to I suppose. Now I stayed in the Sheraton World Resort for double the money in 2002 and it was evil. Motel type rooms, drab, salty pool water...but look at the brochures and its looks great. I would stay in the your hotel 10x over the Sheraton World Resort.

I'm sure you will have a brilliant time. Did I mention the rooms are quite large so there is the feeling of space.

Thank you so much, Denise. That was so kind of you to talk to your DH and his friend about it as well. I really appreciate it and feel confident that this budget-induced change is going to work out just fine! :)
