We need our leaves raked - should I pay a college kid by the hour or by the job? Is there anything to do with the leaves besides bagging for the landfill or burning?

If a small job, probably by the job, if large, probably by the hour. By us, the choices are bagging (at a cost of, I think, $1.50 environmental charge per bag, plus bag cost), raking into and around your own property for mulching, or raking into street for village pickup with giant vacuums. We have our landscaper rake ours into the steet, last time was yesterday.

I wish we had that vacuum option available to us, Dan.

We mulch our leaves

DH powerwashes them into the woods.
You just hook up a powerwasher to your hose and it's done in no time at all.

My friend bought a sucker blower thing at home depot for $89 and she loves it. It just sucks it into bags.

We have yard waste service with our garbage. Does your city offer this?
