Rain forest Cafe used to be the best atmosphered restaurant in Disneyworld. That is, until the T-Rex cafe came along a couple years ago. Which restaurant do you prefer more?

I personally prefer the T-Rex over Rainforest. :bored:

We haven't done either yet but I have reservations at both for our next trip - I'll be interested to see the replies although T-Rex is a keeper! Not sure we will keep the Rainforest one.

T-rex's dinos make the wild animals in RFC look outdated. That said I love RFC. We are all adults and eat at the bar. The servers seem to be friendlier. At T-R we HAD to buy the souvenier glass the drink came in because we didn't tell him in advance we didn't want it. (we already had 4 now we have 6) In RFC they ask if you want it or not. Again that said :) We love the looks of the bar at T-R and the nachos and mozz are TDF. Another thing I like about RFC is there is one at AK. I don't know. I can't decide!:confused3

T-rex's atmosphere is definitely better but really neither one of them has food worth eating!

We prefer the T=Rex too. While the food isn't 5-star restaurant quality, I've had much worse at WDW.

im not a big fan of either one, although T-rex does have great atmosphere i didnt enjoy the food both times ive been. the rainforest has an amazing rasberry lemonade slush drink it was sooo good! but unfortunately i hope i never have to go to either ever again though im sure my older sister will drag me into t-rex when she visits :( lol

What is it about the food that is not good? Is it chain restaurant quality (say comparable to Olive Garden level of food or more like an Applebees?) we stick to pretty simple food - dh loves burgers, I tend to go for chicken or pasta, and the kids love chicken and burgers or pasta too so we would not be eating the "fancier" type of stuff.

Personally, I would go for T-REX only because I have a Rainforest Cafe 10 minutes from my house in NJ.

ummabout t-rex idk im the same way i dont like the fancy food either i love burgers an pizza and stuff, my first time going to t-rex i really wanted pizza but they didnt offer it and there was only pizza on the kids menu, when i asked if it would be ok to order from the kids our waiter said no :( so i had the flat bread instead wich unfortunately had zero flavor and was to big for me(another reson i love ordering from the kids menus. the portions are better for me lol) my ex ordered fish an chips and for him he didnt enjoy it either his was lacking in proportion lol and for us to both not enjoy our meal and for it to come to $60 or $50 was a little bit of a downer. the next time i went i decided to order just a side, i got the onion rings wich i must say were nice but so are the ones made at publix... i had asked for a dish to put the ketchup in because my food came in a cone and was overflowing with onion rings to put the ketchup in it. a dish would have been helpfull but it never came...i ended up using a napkin.........finally our waitress showed up and i asked was there anyway i could get a dish(again) she got me one wich i was greatfull for, napkins always get soggy and end up seeping through onto the table haha. I like planet hollywood better :) but to each to there own :)

I know alot of ppl say they are the same since Landrys owns both but we much prefer Trex food.

The chicken fried steak, the tribal tacos and the paleozoic chicken sandwhich are really so good!

The cottontini is something I get every time we go!

Its a tradition to go for dinner the day before checking into WDW resort.. Our first nights dinner in WDW is always Ohana..

are great restaurants but they divert the kids for awhile. My wife and I seem to be in the minority in that we prefer the RFC menu more.

Maybe it's because we didn't have high expectations going in, but we found the food @ TRex quite good & plentiful. Haven't tried RFC, but will definitely be going back to TRex this year.

We love the hamburgers at RFC. The pizza is good too but the hamburgers are their best item imo. DH agrees with me.

T-Rex. I really don't like the Rainforest and think the food is terrible. I will never forget we were able to walk up and get seated right away, at 5:30pm on THANKSGIVING in Nov. '09. Even that boat/restaurant in DTD was too full to seat us (you know, the one no one likes?, LOL).

We ate at both this past February. I like RFC better than Trex. I think the themeing in pretty at Trex but we have been to RFC twice and had great food and service.

For the curious, here the Landry's restaurants website. You can print out both menus and compare/contrast.

My family always tends to be sucked into the AK Rainforest Cafe for some darn reason, even though none of us like the sounds of baby anthropoids screaming in our ears during dinnertime. (The robotic chimpanzees are annoying too. :lmao: ) Good thing it's an easy place to get girl drink drunk.

Haven't had the chance to experience the magic of T-Rex yet, but I have a hunch we're just trading "Junglefowl Chicken Wings" with "Caudipteryx Chicken Wings".

T-Rex 99.9% better the RFC, but just a loud.

We did T-Rex on out last trip in September and GC liked it so much we will be having a late lunch on arrival day. Plus GC are going to Build-a-Dino after.

Plus GC are going to Build-a-Dino after.

Ah, that explains something I saw last time I was down there. A kid was walking around with a very Build-A-Bear-ish ankylosaur plushie.

I was suddenly, momentarily jealous because I did not have one too.
