Rainforest, Vouchers & My Confusion

I almost hate to post this as there are tons of great posts already. I did a search read a few dozen threads, read them again and it's all just about clear as mud now. I think I am on info overload. If anyone can help me out here, I would GREATLY appreciate it! All the questions below pertain to Rainforest Cafe

1.) I need Vacation Kingdom vouchers right?

2.) Is Rainforest Cafe still allowing kids with kid vouchers to order off the adult menu?

3.) We have 4 adults and 2 kids going. Two of the adults are big eaters. One child, 9, usually orders off the adult menu. How many and what type of vouchers should I buy?

4.) Which service should I use to get the vouchers ASAP? We leave in 21 days!

5.) How hard is it to get a PS for Rainforest? Should I do that prior to ordering or should I be safe ordering them tonight?

Sounds like 2 adults can share, 2 adults need their own. and each child get a childs voucher, and order off the adult..and the sharing adults will have lots to pick from...so my guess would be 3 adults, 2 childs (since the childs is a lot less money).

4.) Which service should I use to get the vouchers ASAP? We leave in 21 days!

Most end up being Connections involved. I've never had a problem with them and they have always been fast. Use a credit card..not a debit card..not even a debit card that can be used as a cc.


5.) How hard is it to get a PS for Rainforest? Should I do that prior to ordering or should I be safe ordering them tonight?

You are going during a quieter time..you should have no problem making a PS a couple days in advance (or same day..but same day, you'll have to call direct, or if you are in a Disney resort, ask to be connected. Although one person said she was able to use the coupon at DTD RF, we have not been..so I would plan on going to the AK RF.

I would say you only need 2 adult and 2 kids vouchers.

we ate with 1 adult and 2 kids vouchers for 1 adult, 1 teen, 2 kids. We took back enough food for another meal. Most of our entrees and all of our desserts were left over.

You can also buy through hotwiresavingsclub.

I tried to get a ps for RF when we went last October and had a hard time doing it. I was calling 2 weeks before we left. I would make the ressie ASAP(especially of you are trying to eat later in the day). You can always cancel if the vouchers don't work out.

But if two of the adults are big eaters, the third adult would then have to eat off the kids plates..which is fine, if the kids order off the adult menu..not so fine if they order "kids" food.

It's actually easier to call RF direct, and not through Disney. They have a lot less seats available through PS's, than if you call direct. You should have no problem getting a "direct" PS. If you call direct, they never (except during school vacations) turn you down. During the time you are going, I can't imagine you would have any problems, calling direct.

We have tried to make PS's at Chef Mickey, only to be told no. We just show up at 4:45 (we were never able to get in at 5 on a PS), as told on these boards, and we get in every time...and see tons of empty seats. We asked why, the last time, and they said only some seats are saved for potential PS's.

I have a suggestion. Pay $15.00 for the Rainforest Safari Club. It allows you priority seating without prior arrangements, a free appetizer or 10% off your meal, 10% off in their gift shop plus they send you a $10 coupon for joining and $5.00 coupon every year. The membership doesn't expire and is also good at any Landry's restaurant (joe's crab shack, crab house etc) with the same benefits. You can get a membership before you leave by visiting their website.

Last month we were told that Rainforest didn't take PS's. We were not able to make them though a Disney CM. We didn't have much of a wait walking up, which surprised us. Our table of 10 was seated after about 20 minutes, at the AK location right after the park closed.

They don't if it's the same day..then you have to call direct, which we like much better, anyway.

If you are using vouchers, the $15 is a waste (unless you would use it another time..but we don't have a rainforest or Landry's by us..or unless it's worth it to you to get the chef's choice appetizer (which is often chicken quesidella's), IMO..especially since you can call them direct and have your PS...at no cost.
