Rainforest- downtown or AK?

Does anyone find one Rainforest Cafe better than the other? I ate at downtown Disney a few years back, the food I found okay, but the atmosphere great. Just looking for opinions- I know you have them!

We prefer the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney. Just feel like the atmosphere is a notch above.

Probably not much help....it's just our preference

My vote is for Downtown Disney. I think it is atomosphere.

Downtown gets our vote. Service was not great on our visit to the RF at AK, but has always been great at DTD.

I think I'm going to be the only one to say AK. The Rain Forest Cafe is about the only restaurants Ive actually been to at WDW and I thought they were both great. You can't go wrong with either but the one at the AK, with the park right there, really set the mood I thought. However we were there during a non-busy week so it wasn't crowded or anything. I'd assume that the one at the AK would normally be busier? Anyways either one would be good!

Which RFC has PS's? How is it going to the AK RFC @ park closing? We'd be going the first week in December, so it's a slow time of the year. Also, I am a member of the Rainforest club. How does that help with waiting at the WDW RFC's? Thanks for any info! Jeankeri

Can't comment on the Downtown as I've never been, but the service at the AK was awful. 25 minutes to get drinks, another 25 for an appetizer, etc. And this when the place was half empty at 2 in the afternoon.

For lunch and dinner the RFC in DTD is great! For breakfast go to AK, the food is great !!!

We're planning to eat at the RFC and I was just reading about this in the UG yesterday. It says that only the AK RFC takes PS's until 1 hour after park closing. It says that if you are a member of the "Safari Club" (I don't know if that's the same as the "Rainforest Club"??) you present your membership card and will be seated immediately. You can still make a PS if you want to though. HTH!

We were planning to eat the AK one since they take PS's, but from this thread, it sounds like the DTD one is better...

We like the the one at DTD also. On our trip in Dec we had no PS there and the wait was over an hour, so I just went into the gift shop, joined the Safari Club, showed the hostess the card and got seated. I actually just received a 10.00 GC from them that you get for joining. Cant wait to use it when we go back this year!

Either one is fine with us. The one at the AK does take PS's and can save you a bunch of time. We like to break up a day at AK with a Rainforest Cafe lunch. My wife loves the Volcanic Cobb salad and my daughter loves the shop!

I've only been to the RC in AK... At least in WDW. I've been to a few other RC around the country and I just enjoy the chain as a whole.
