We are going on our first DLP trip at Feb half term with 4 other adults and 3 kids. We have been to WDW and really loved the food and atmosphere at the Rainforest Café, is the DLP one just as good? I noticed the menu is different, but are the portions as large as the American ones and would you rate it as a special meal to celebrate a birthday. My friends are all looking to me for suggestions, but I only know WDW. Also, do you think we need to book meal reservations in advance and how do you do this at DLP.
Many thanks for your help.

It's not possible to make a reservation for RFC but even when it's busy we've never had to wait more than 30 mins for a table.

The portions aren't massive but they are more than adequate. The theming is spot on and it's a great place to have a birthday meal.

We ate there three (or maybe four) times on our last trip as it was somewhere we could find something we liked on the menu.

I actually prefer the Disneyland Paris Rainforest Cafe to the WDW one, I found the layout of the WDW much less personal and it was noisier.

Portion sizes are similar too. I think you'll have a great time there!

We had two meals in RFC and two different experiences. One time it was a hit and one of the best meals. The second time it was bad, not worth the money. The theming is good, I love the atmosphere, but the service and food just didn't do. Thinking of giving RFC another chance of this trip though, just because of the theming.

We ate there last May and found the food very nice. not too expensive either. of course the theming is great, but the service we found to be poor.

Some people have been able to book rf a week before hand on 00 33 1 60 43 65 65.
I think it depends on who you talk to.

You can book a day or 2 in advance in person - we did this in November and May. The menu has recently (in the last year, maybe 2) gotten a lot smaller. You're best place to look is in the restaurant review sticky section. Carrie has posted photos of the menu there.

I rathered it before the menu got smaller but it's still a favourite. The sweet potato gratin that comes with one of the steaks is particularly good (and they let me substitute it in place of fries before) plus the Rasta Pasta is miles better than the PH equivalent. Yummy cocktails too :thumbsup2
