Does anyone know of any discounts for the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney? Or any other place to eat at Downtown Disney?

Thanks!;)

If you have a Rainforest near you at home also, its definitely worth joining their safari club. It costs $15 but they send you a $10 gift certificate for joining and a $5 gift certificate on your birthday and anniversary. Then the perks of the club are 10% your bill at not just Rainforest, but also Crab House, Joe's Crab Shack, and Landry's seafood. You also get priority seating. (One night there was a 2 hour wait we got to walk right to the front of the line show our card and were seated in 15 minutes).

Aaah yes. The best thing is of being a member of the club is the proirity seating. Don't need reservations or anything. Just show your card and bam, you are seated quickly. That is worth the membership!

If you don't have a rainforest near you, you can join rainforest club on their website.

And the best part is that your membership is good forever. the more you use it, the more offers they seem to send. I earned a buy one get one entree free coupon. Everytime you eat there you get 10% off your bill or a free appetizer up to $7.99 with 2 paid entrees.

Also you save 10% off in the store and the priority seating is the best!

You asked about other restaurants too. I have used my AAA card at Planet Hollywood. One time it got us 10% off. One time it got us free dessert. Also my friend has a Planet Hollywood Visa card through MBNA that guarantees her first available seating.

My AAA card got me 10% off at House of Blues once but not the other time. Their food was really good but we didn't have any special seating priviledges so it was a bit of a wait.

I've always wanted to try Bongos but still haven't had the time. Maybe someone else has some ideas?

I love being a member. They say the more you use it the more you get, but they don't even scan my card they just look at it. So I don't understand how that would work.
A really great way to save money though, is to use the free appetizer option instead of the 10%. With a small group it's much more worth it. When my boyfriend and I go out to eat there, one of us is almost always in the mood for pizza, which is an entree or an appetizer (same meal, just listed twice on the menu). So one of us will order an entree and the other will get the free pizza. They have free refills too on things like pop and lemonade.

I just went to the Rain Forest Cafe website and could not find any spot where I could sign up for the Safari Club. Am I missing something? Can you help me, SalandJeff or anyone else out there?

Many thanks in advance! :)

I didn't realize we were getting 10% off by using it, and I'd completely forgotten about the appetizer option. We've had ours for 2 or 3 years, though, and the special coupons for birthdays have stopped coming. Also at the Mall of America location they changed the seating benefits. It usually helps us get quick seating, but not always. How much I forgot! That's enough food to feed us and 3 kids, because my husband and I split. The 10, 8, and 4 yr. old can absolutely feast on a pizza and appetizer. Hmmm! I'll reconsider Rainforest at AK. Thanks for the helpful input folks!

Officially as a club member it says that you are supposed to give 24 hours notice and they will guarantee immediate seating.

I usually visit the Chicago area and I've found that they allow me to have next available seating just showing up. When I used it at Disneyland in California I was given immediate seating upon showing it. At Downtown Disney it significantly cut down on our wait time but it was not immediate. Perhaps each location sets its own rules? In any case it was definitely a help.

Also, every time I go I ask what the current offers/specials are for using the card and my server will tell me. At the end of the meal they take your card and scan it. Your bill will reflect your savings (if it doesn't, I would ask!).

I didn't see anything on the web site for joining the club. Perhaps calling one of the restaurants directly would be helpful but I'm not sure if they would do that over the phone or not.

Good luck!

Sorry - I was sure I had seen a link to join the Safari Club on the website, but I can't seem to find anything now.

You can try calling the toll free number during the day and see if you can join over the phone, mail, web, etc. The number is 1-800-552-6379.

There was a link to the Safari Club. It was a little hard to find, but now it is even harder to find! LOL! You can try e-mailing them at: CustomerService@GiftCertificates.com <CustomerService@GiftCertificates.com> to see if they can send you more info via e-mail or snail mail.

travelitis, you implied you have never eaten at the AK RFC. I would recommend the RFC at DTD. We have eaten at the AK restuarant several times and never had a good experience. The first time we had a PS and still had to wait more than an hour with a todler and infant. When we finally were seated, it was very close to closing.

On our last visit, I called from my home the day before to request the SC priority seating. They told me there was no such thing. I had made a PS for 5:00. It was after 6:30 before we were seated. When I showed my SC card at "the elephant", the hostess acted like she had no clue about the next available seating and told us to get in the end of the line that was waiting to be seated. We were charged for our complimentary appetizer as well. We decided that was our last time eating at the AK RFC.

We have, however, used our SC card at the DTD RFC and have never had more than a 10 minute wait. We have always been ushered into the "to be seated" line with very few people ahead of us. We always have received the discount and a free appetizer. We eat at this restaurant every time we visit WDW.

Thanks for the heads-up! Since I have and can eat at RFC other places, if the one at AK won't give us the free appetizer or even decent service there's no reason for us to visit it. I'd rather eat somewhere I can't otherwise if I'm spending those prices. I can understand the attraction if you don't have a RFC nearby.

another discount for Rainforest Cafe DD, get the Orlando Magic Card @ www.go2orlando.com presenting the card will give you a free appetizer of the day per table.

I could not find the magicard website at go2orlando.com. Is there a .com address for it? Also, what types of discounts do I get with my safari club card and can I sign-up for it at Rainforest Cafe at DD??

Thanks
