Is it necessary to make reservations for Rainforest Cafe? We plan on eating there on our arrival night on May 30th.
If so, how far in advance?
Thanks!

Definitely! I would make them today if possible. Whenever we have eaten there we have always made reservations. When you go you will see a very long line in the evening of people waiting for a table. I always wonder why they don't make a reservation and save that time for the parks! :confused3 Have fun!

Ok cool thanks!! I'll give them a call today! :tigger:

Not sure if you can make reservations there.... call them... you may need to join their VIP membership deal. Again... not sure as, we too, always walk in and get seated within 30 mins.

Keep us posted on the outcome please. :thumbsup2

Yes, you can and should make reservations at RFC - especially if you have a larger group and want to eat at a prime time.

I think it's always better to be safe than sorry. Last December my DH convinced me that we didn't need them at ESPN and we had a 1.5 hour wait with friends LOL. Never again :P Definitely make them hehe.

We ate there 8/16/11 and if we had not had reservations it was a 2+ hour wait.

We've never had long waits for a table there. But it really depends on the time of year, and even the time you want to eat. We usually do an early dinner, so it's not busy yet. So yes if you want a busy time then it would be a good idea.

We ate there on this past Sunday evening. It was going to be a 35 minute wait, we told them that we wanted a good spot for my brother (disabled) who had never seen the animals and such there. For some reason they then rushed up right up to a table by the elephants. Very cool.

We were going to eat there in March, early March, there was a 1.5 hour wait WITH my Safari Club membership.....we didn't eat there. LOL The Safari Club doesn't get you seated immediately but it does get you a wait time of half, so the wait was approximately 3 hours for walk-ups......
I would suggest making a reservation for sure.

We went there once, we did not even know it was there, just walking around dtd and saw it.We decided to eat and we were told there was about an hour wait, there was alot of people waiting. We stood there (we had 5 of us) and we were talking about just going somewhere else and forget this place, the host overheard us and just as we were about to leave he said he was able to get us a table right away so we only had a 5 min wait! I guess we got lucky that time but if we go there again I would prob. make reservations! The food was ok, I really loved the interior atmosphere though, like being in the jungle.:)

Defiantly make reservations, it's always super busy whenever we go. Also, May 30th is a grad night, just as a heads up. :)

Sounds like it’s a hit or miss for everyone. :confused3 From what I have noticed, most of the time you can just walk up to RF to make a reservation, wait times can be 30 mins to a couple hours depending on when you are planning of eating there. Sometimes when we call to make a reservation for our guests, RF would tell us that they are not taking reservations for that day. Since May 30 is a Wednesday the wait might not be that long, but you can always give RF a call to see if a reservation is necessary. Also if you don’t mind sitting on the patio area, the wait time is shorter since it is outside, but they do have heaters. This is what I have noticed, but it may be different for others. Hope this helps!

Did they seat you in the bar area or on the upstairs outdoor patio? Both of those usually have seating available pretty fast. If not then you got really lucky.....

This may be above.

For RFC, you have to call RFC for reservations. It's the only onsite location that Disney Dining can not make reservations.

Kerri, just in case you don't now, the Safari Club is no more, and it's Landry's Select. If you weren't aware of this, here is their info!

Also... If you are one of those people who need to over plan everything, you can make reservations 1 year in advance. :)

I knew that, I just call it the Safari Club still. You still get priority seating when you show your card. :)
