Hey everyone! My mother and I will be at MK and AK on Aug 29th/30th and I'm pretty sure there's a Rainforest Cafe in each of those two parks. (Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though! :cool2:)

What's the best time in the day to go to the Cafe? Is lunch cheaper than dinner? We're not too picky about what time we eat, but we'd rather just walk in than make a reservation, and hope that it's not crazy busy. It's always a tradition to eat there when we're at Disney. :sunny:

Rainforest Cafe is right at the entrance to AK and also at DTD. There is not one at MK. I think the lunch and dinner menus are the same but I'm not 100% sure. You can always call the location directly once you know when you might be hungry and try your luck that way. The one at DTD can get busy at dinner but if you went early afternoon you might not have much of a wait.

If you mean it's a tradition to eat at RFC, be sure to become a member of the Safari Club while you are there! Unless it's absolutely insanely busy, that allows priority seating without having to make a reservation. (works at T-Rex, too). And then you get a discount or choice of one free appetizers (from a list) with an ordered entree.

There is not a RFC in MK. There is one at AK and DTD. Check the menus on-line for the prices. We visited the one in DTD right at dinner time and had a 5 minute wait without an ADR. RFC's are HUGE so I would imagine you would be able to go without an ADR or a long wait time.

I wouldn't risk going without an ADR. I have booked ADR for Late October, and the only dining time available is 9:00 PM.

Last time when we were there about 2 years ago, we ate there for breakfast. Their selection was pretty good! I also agree with another poster, to sign up for the Safari Club and get a free appetizer or you can get 10% off. If we go for lunch, I usually get the pita quesadillas as an entree....they have chicken for protein and are pretty filling. Hope this helps. Oh, and I would always make reservations....just in case.:goodvibes

What time does the one at AK close. We really want to eat there on our AK park day but AK closes at 5 and we would love to go to rainforst cafe after park close but not sure how long it stays open. Also if we use disney transportation will it still be running after our dinner...or should we drive that day?

We will be there in August as well and are eating there at lunch. I wouldn't go without an ADR either. I would imagine it would be better eating an early lunch as well. It probably gets pretty busy at dinner time at the AK.
