If you had to choose between Rainforest Cafe and the 50's Prime Time Cafe, based on food and fun, which would you choose and why?

I can't participate in this poll because we've never eaten at 50's Prime Time.
...but we do enjoy the The Rainforest Cafe...we've eaten at the one in AK.

We have an ADR for 50's next month....hope our visit is as good as some of the reviews I've read!!

We've eaten at both. I prefer Rainforest Cafe's food, but you got to experience 50's Prime Time Cafe at least once.

50s Prime Time Cafe is the quintessential Disney restaurant experience. I wouldn't say it is the best restaurant or has the best food of all of Disney's restaurants, and it isn't my "favorite," but I don't think you can say you've experience Disney dining at its best until you've eated at Prime Time. Prime Time is what Disney dining is all about: Putting on a show, and at the same time putting you, the guest, into the show.

The Rainforest Cafe in Burlington MA is far superior to the two Rainforest Cafes at WDW, so I couldn't imagine ever wasting my time at a RFC at WDW ever again.

50s Prime Time, for sure.
There's only one; Rainforest is a national chain (although, admittedly, hard or impossible to find in some areas)
PTC is fun; it can be as interactive as you want it to be; Rainforest can be so LOUD at times, you can't carry on a conversation.
The scent of whatever RFC puts in the (display) water bothers me.

And - Bicker, thanks! I've eaten at the one in Burlington, now I know I don't have to try to fit in the Disney ones!

I voted 50s PTC. We have been there several times and each time has been a very good experience. The food is always tasty. In fact DW and I were discussing the other day how we thought 50s has improved over the years in taste rather than just become an oh yeah, it was ok meal.

RFC we have been too twice at DD. The first time, we thought the food was good and the atmosphere was cool. But the 2nd time it was all just ok. Nothing to write home about.

I love RFC, but I agree that 50's PT is a true Disney Dining Experience and not to be missed. RFC is fun, and the food is pretty good, but there's something special about 50's PT. Try to do both! if you can't, I have to give the edge to 50's PT. Get the fried chicken and a shake! PB and J or the "adult" ones are my favorite!!

My vote goes to 50's Prime Time Cafe. Like some others have said you can find a Rainforest Cafe anywhere else but there is only one 50's PTC. We always have a lot of fun there and it really is a great experience! :thumbsup2

We love RFC. Too bad it's not on the DDP. We always visit the DTD one. The atmosphere is one of a kind. I say that because we are not very lucky and we don't have one of those places anywhere around Montreal.

We have a Rainforest Cafe locally and I don't like to eat there while at home so I certainly don't want to eat there on vacation =) But I know that lots of people don't have them locally...

I would def choose 50's PT. It's Disney - RFC is not.

I have Rainforest locally and although I virtually never go there, as a result I never go to the one at WDW. That being said - I have always had good meals there. I also prefer the menu to 50's Prime Time.

In my opinion, if you have a local Rainforest Cafe, go to Prime Time. If not, go to Rainforest.

My advice is to be able to try them both at some time. They're totally different experiences and aren't really comparable IMO...kindof like apples and oranges. Our family of 4 didn't like PT at all but we love RF; I'm glad we tried PT so we could make the decision based on our preferences. RF is an easy reservation if you're at AK--if nothing else, try it for appetizers and drinks or for coffee and their famous chocolate volcano. we'll be enjoying RF again in June! :woohoo:

i would eat at 50's PTC. you can eat at many different RFC's around the country but there is only 1 PTC.
