Rainforest Cafe in Galveston

Just an FYI for the Houstonians or anyone visiting soon. The RFC in Galveston is great! The restaurant portion is about the size of the one up at Katy Mills Mall. Menu is just slightly smaller, but everything we had was great. We noticed the menu being smaller because I frequently order clam strips and they were missing from this menu. Their BBQ cheeseburger is *fantastic* (that's what I had).

Then today, they had live music when we were there -- hula dancers and everything. They wandered around the restaurant as well so everyone could see them. I'm not sure if that's a regular thing, and they were only out for about 15 minutes int he hour or so we were there, but it was fun. They may have been just for the holiday, though.

One thing they do have that I *know* is a full-time thing (at least for now) is a ride! An actual jungle adventure raft ride (you don't get very wet, just a little mist and a couple of drops) that is *very*, *very* well done for a restaurant ride. Shoot, it's better than any ride in Astroworld. (no comments about that not being too hard ) And appropriate for the whole family. The three of us who rode all gave it two thumbs up and worth the cost ($4.50) for one ride per visit.

Thanks Rajah! We've eaten there twice, but haven't done the ride yet. I hated to spend almost $20 on it if it was lame. We'll definitely try it next time we're there, though.

Glad to hear its so good and the ride is fun.I have been wanting to go but we have just been so busy. Maybe when school lets out I'll have a little more time.

We drove by there yesterday after going to Moody Gardens. We thought about stopping to eat but decided to get off the Island while the rain wasn't too bad. If we were to have a meet, there is so much to do in Galveston now (Moody Gardens, the Strand, the Railroad Museum, the Flight Museum, etc.) that we could do something else and eat afterwards. BTW....waking up in the morning and stubbing my toe on the corner of the bed is better than Astroworld
