Ok every year when we go to Disney we eat at RC in DTD, and one year (2008) I ordered the Nile shrimp enbrochette, one of the best things I ate at Disney and since then I have not been able to order it, was this removed from there menu?

Tender shrimp stuffed with succulent crabmeat, sliver of jalapeño and our
four cheese blend, wrapped in bacon then fried to a crisp golden brown.

If you go there every year, and it hasn't been offered for the last 2-3 years.....I'm thinking you've answered your own question.

;)

A restaurant near me used to make a delicious dish similar but no more, so I make my own. The shrimp is grilled, not fried, and stuffed with a tiny sliver of jalepeno (you could add crab, too) wrapped in partially fried bacon, grill nearly done, then brush with Bull's Eye BBQ sauce and finish grilling.( I use a grilll pan to keep it from falling through the grate.) You could probably broil or bake it, too.

See I dont understand why I couldnt get a simple yes or no, instead of a smart comment . I thought the boards were for advice :confused3 Im asking to see if anyone knows for SURE if it has been removed or if its only served at certain times :sad2: GEESH !!!!!!! :headache:

See...I don't understand why you thought that was "a smart answer"....since no one here is in charge of the menu at RFC...I made an observation based on what YOU said and drew the conclusion that since you've been repeatedly over time and not found it on the menu it was therefore reasonable to assume it is no longer offered!...You will not get the ultimate answer to this question unless you call the RFC and speak to the manager...that's the only definative method to answering you question.

Here's a observation of mines based on the "NO HELP" that you have offered, "Chim in only when you have something to offer" People ask questions like this on the board all the time.... not sure why you deemed it necessary to chim in if you had no positive input

Despite your apparent refusal to accept it, I did have something to offer.

You asked a question that no one here is able to definately answer...do you understand that? This is because the executive chef mostl likely isn't reading this, and that person or the company are the only ones who can give you what you seem to be asking for. Any other replies are only guesses. That is why I sincerely suggested you call RFC and ask - since you want to know. You've misread my tone since my first post and I hope you can understand I'm giving you a simple, solution to help you answer your question....that is what I thought I was doing to wit you seemed to feel I was not being helpful

I also don't understand why some posters feel the need to be unnecessarily sarcastic when others are just genuinely asking for help. Many WDW menus are changed seasonally & a few places only offer some items during a certain time of year. Some restaurants also bring menu items back that have been discontinued. I'm often quite impressed by how knowledgeable some of my fellow DISboarders are with that type of information. You, my friend, obviously are not of that sort.

That was never my intent, and to your second point that is exactly why I sugggested the OP make a call to the only people, FOR SURE, who can answer the question.

On the contrary, I'm not sure why some posters get so defensive when a person answers a question with a well thougth out reply. To be honest, I was thinking the same thing and I thougth his original and second reply were both pretty good, the OP and you just took it very defensively which you're entitled to, but I sure don't think he meant anything by it. Just my observation. And he's right, unless someone here works for RFC they would have no idea why this dish is no longer on the menu so the most likely source would be to call them. You can reach them at 407-827-8500.

@mickeygulf.....If I wanted to call the the 407 number I could of done that ages ago :confused3, but like I said before, dozens of these questions are asked (WITH HELPFUL ANSWERS), so I dont understand why it was made a big deal here. I asked to see if anybody missed it like I did and like another person offered a idea of cooking it . SO although it was a question that I could call and ask I prefered to follow up with my fellow DISers and see what others had to say, it was meant to spark a conversation (LIKE ALL POST ARE) with the question being the topic. :sad2:

Ok if you did have something helpful to offer, trust me when I say it was lost in the mist of your sarcasm. I don’t mind being told anything but I do get irritated when first im nicely asking a genuine question and two....people feel the need to be rude about answering a question.

We can at least agree on this point. But we will have to respectfully agree to disagree as to it's cause.

DIS is by far the best board I am apart of with genuinely nice people, I rarely get in a tit for tat with anyone on a thread. I’m just saying I would of responded better had you came out directly and said, "Hey did you try calling the restaurant" which was your point correct??....That my friend would have been alright with me, but theres no hard feelings on my end :thumbsup2:goodvibes

I was thinking the same thing as DVCconvert. People ask alot of silly questions here and get the same type of answers. I'll bet if you were not the one who asked that question, you would have thought the same thing.
Here's a thought...ask the wait staff of the RFC in 2 months/3 weeks & 4 days.

Nile shrimp abundance fluctuates, it seems.

I also don't understand why some posters feel the need to be unnecessarily sarcastic....

But DVCconvert wasn't sarcastic. There was no "harsh or bitter derision or irony", nor was it a "sneering or cutting remark". Nor, as my son understands sarcasm to be, were they saying the opposite of what they meant to say.

Did it answer the question? No, neither have I (though I googled to see if there might be a reason since the concept of importing shrimp from the Nile boggled my mind...then again I haven't eaten shrimp since approx 1985 so I'm no expert), but they weren't being sarcastic about it.

Just the other day I posted a question on the Universal forum b/c I didn't want to call Universal (I hate calling)...people strongly suggested that I call! I didn't take it to be sarcastic, and instead I called, and I got the answer to my question. easy peasy.

So a suggestion to call, or a suggestion that the answer is already known, can actually be considered helpful...just depends on the person *hearing* or reading it....

Here we go again!!! I'm going to give you a pass on this comment.....THIS TIME!!!!!

They've removed quite a few of the regular items from the menu. We go every trip and my mom was so disappointed that her stir fry was no longer available. We asked the server and they said they had condensed the menu a bit and removed several items from the menu. Hope you can find something close to your favorite dish somewhere else. :goodvibes
