We would like to eat at RAinforest Cafe while at Disney World. Do we need to make reservations in advance for this? If so, how does a person go about doing this? Also, I think there are two Rainforest Cafes. Which one is best?

Definitely do reservations.. You'll thank yourself later. We've waited 2-3 hours for a table when we didn't make official reservations there. On the dates we did make reservations it took us 30 minutes tops to get to our table :)

We made reservations for Downtown Disney's Rainforest for 9-20. I thought the ressies were at 7:30 and we showed up at about 7:20. They informed me that they were actually at 7...oops! They still got us right in. It was crazy crowded outside so we were really thankful! I would definitely make reservations. I called them directly, got the number off their website.

I think it depends on the times you wish to eat at. For example when my family and I go to the location at Downtown Disney Marketplace we like to eat there between 4:30 and 5:00 PM, to avoid long line ups and everytime we go during those times we have always been seated right away.

Also when it comes to making a reservation for the location at Downtown Disney you need to call them directly, because it can not be down threw WDW-Dining. However for the location at the Animal Kingdom WDW-Dining can make your ADR's over there.

We were at Rainforest on 9/20 too! Our ressies were at 6:30. I would definitely say make a reservation. It was busy that night and there was a stand by line.

If you don't plan to go to the parks that day, you would probably want to go to the downtown Disney one to save you $12 on parking! Also, if you want dinner, I don't think the Animal Kingdom one is open very late. I thought when I tried to make it for there first, the latest I could get was at 5:30 or something close.

I would make a reservation. I would also make sure you have your confirmation number with you. We had a reservation for 7:30pm 9/21. When we arrived I went up and they told me I didn't have a reservation, even though I called to verify my reservation the week before we left. We ended up waiting until almost 8:00 to be seated. This was of course the one time, I did not have my ADRs listing with us. Was hoping our Safari Club membership would at least get us in quicker, but that didn't matter.

Bottom line, I'd make an ADR, but also have the confirmation number with you (not sure that would have mattered or not in our case).

We go nearly every trip to RFC and never made reservations. I suggest you do if you really want to go there, just in case. The waits could get really long at times.

You can make reservations on the Disney Reservation line just call 407 WDW-DINE

I recommend making them in case there is a long line.

Not sure which one is best I've only been to the one at AK:dance3:

Unless it's just recently changed, you can not make reservations for the DTD location through Disney, you have to call the DTD location directly.

We usually eat the DTD location every trip, but on the trip we just returned from, we ate at the AK one. We like the DTD one better.

One problem.... my favorite thing on the menu is now gone!!!! :sad1: There is no more crab dip!!! What were they thinking there????

Oh, Yes, I think you should have Ressie if you are planning on going in the afternoon !!!!

We made a ressie at the AK one for October 12th and were planning on getting the crab dip! I can't believe it's off the menu. :sad2:

We joined the Rainforest Cafe Safari Club several years ago. I can't remember the cost but I think it's $10. You will receive a $10 coupon, get discounts on food and items from the gift shop. You also get front of the line privileges. You can check it out at http://www.rainforestcafe.com/
I think you click on the monkey!

I made our reservations around the same time as I did our disney reservations, so at least 180 days or so ahead of arrival.
