A few month back I saw some kind of club you could join on the Rainforest cafe website? I know you got a $10 coupon to use and 10% off on Laury's or whatever brand they are restaurants. I wanted to join now but can't find the info on their website. Anyone remember or have the info?

thanks....where did you find this. Just curious. Do you know how many hours I've spent looking?

The Safari Club card is great! It is a one time membership fee so you can continue to get the discounts for the rest of your life for that initial $15 cost. Also, they send you gift certificates on your birthday and wedding anniversary. The best part of the card is not needing PS or reservations!

This is a good deal, but to to clarify, it is a membership for life only if you use the card every year.

If you don't use it at all in a year's time, you lose the memberhsip.

I have never had this experience. We have gone over a year without using it and have never lost our privileges and continue to receive the gift certificates even if several go unused.

Does anyone know if you have to sign up for this in advance or can you do it there? We leave on Thursday night so I don't have time to sign up and have a card mailed to me. We do have plans to eat here and have VKL vouchers so the main thing we'd want is the seating deal. I know we'll be back within a year so we can use the coupon and the seating thing again then.

Just wondering if I can sign up in the store and get the same benefits. We do have a PS but from our last trip we waited much longer to be seated here than anywhere else and saw a few people with the Safari Club who came in well after us and were seated well before us because of it.

You can sign up at the restaurant but you will not get the seating benefit until you have the real card (you get a temp card with application).

When we were at the AK RF in Sept, a cast member was trying to sell memberships to everyone standing in line without having much luck but when we started telling people about the benefits several signed up. I guess it takes hearing from someone who actually uses it other than a "salesman" to convince folks some times. ;)

I too, have the Safari Club Card and it rocks! And there is also a feature with the card to have a free appetizer instead of the discount...and you get awesome certificates mailed to you for your birthday, anniversary, etc., so sign up and have fun!

Didnt I read that there is a limit to the party size you can have for the discount?

I've had my membership card since the beginning of this year. I got my $10 coupon about a month later, and I just received my $5 coupon, so I consider my membership free now. I have used it at Joe's Crab Shack and I went to RFC first week of December. There is a party size limit, I believe it is 6.

I tried to call the number to see if I could sign up in advance but was told that you can only sign up at the restaurant. We went to the one at Downtown Disney (had $50 in gift cards from MyPoints, woohoo!) and the wait was over an hour and a half. I walked up to the counter, paid my $15, filled out the form and got my temp card and cut our wait to about 15-20 minutes. Actually the guy that was at the podium when I asked about the wait laughed when I came back up - no one else had figured out how to "beat the system" - LOL! We eat there every trip, so the $15 wasn't just for the seating that night - it definitely WILL get used and I'll make that money back.

I live in Hawaii so where there is no Rainforest Cafe. You think I could get an aplication mailed to me and I could send it in? I guess I'll have to call tomorrow. If the woman says O.K. I'll post for anyone else who wants to get it in advance.

Do you have any of these restaurants in Hawaii? You can use the card at these restaurants also.

No, we're deprived here. Only in the last maybe 5 years did we get a Wal Mart here. We still don't have a target. Hopefully one day they'll come. It's o.k. though, it just makes going to the Mainland that much more exciting. Can you imagine that some of us go to every Target we can when we get to the mainland!!! Thanks for the link...I'll make enough use of the card while I'm on my trip to make it worthwhile. Now, just to get me a card. I tried calling the number posted and I'll see what the woman says.

When we joined the Safari Club a couple of years ago, there was a statement in the membership that said that you had to use it every year, but if you look at the rules now, they seem to have dropped that rule. We go to Joe's less than two miles from home every so often and we go to RFC in Nashville when we visit our friends up there. So, we keep ours current anyway.

Ya' gotta love that little piece of plastic! Maggie

yes, I'm curious if I can apply on-line or another way too - if anyone finds out before I do, please let me know.
I was thinking of getting a gift certificate for my sister.
TIA

P.S. FAC thanks for the website - I'll call them tomorrow about membership.

The lady I called said you could only sign up in the restaurant. I have no restaurant here and wanted the $10 certificate before I went. Anyway, if you get different infor please post.
