I saw a menu(lunch/dinner) for the Rainforest Cafe on line . It looked good but I was looking to see if anyone had been there and what their thoughts of this restaurantare. Thanks
The food there is mediocre, but thats not why I go there. I go because its nice to be able to leave AK for an hour or so in the middle of the day and sit inside a nice air conditioned place. And the atmosphere is awesome, especially if you have never been there. Nighttime skies, giant gorillas who 'talk', waterfalls, elephants, thunderstorms, giant saltwater fish tanks. Its a good one time experience.
The food can be spotty but no worse than CS. We have learned to give them our order when they take the drink order, sometimes it is far and between seeing your wait staff.
We love the Mojo Bones and Caesar salad. The kids get one Cheese pizza from the adult menu (much better than the kids) and a Caesar salad. It is enough for the five us and room left for a mickey ice cream when we head back into the park. The best thing as said before is getting off your feet for an hour in a cool place.
We went to the one at AK in Sept. I was not impressed, food was so so and service was the same. Now when we ate at the one in DTD we liked it...that was a few years ago.
AK location is less busy than DTD. We like getting out of the park for lunch as well. The menu is better than the other AK dining options. I have found the service to be better at DTD, but the menu is the same, and the atmosphere is a nice break from AK.
Honestly we loved it. I was kind of hesitant to go since I didn't care for the Chicago one but it was really good there! I had the chicken fried chicken & It was to die for. They gave me a lot of food too. We're going back to the AK Rainforest when we get back there this year
We liked it too, as a very nice air-conditioned break in a day at AK last July. Food & service were fine -- we just got burgers and unlimited refill sodas -- and my kids loved it.
The food here is ok..not over the top, kinda pricey..the only big problem was the thunderstorms, my son sat right next to the elephants, who kinda reacted to the storm, he screamed every time the storm came on!!!
Have eaten there on our last two WDW trips. Loved the ribs! Absolutely loved the VOLCANOOO!!! Awesome chocolate dessert--rather big though. We split it 4 ways. We'll be returning to RFC in July for round 3!
We've eaten at both the AK one and DTD and we loved both of them - good service and lovely food - no complaints from us! We're giving it a miss this year though as we've been every visit so far and want to try new restaurants.
the past 3 times we've been to disney, we've eaten at RFC@AK. we've never thought the food was great, but we usually had a somewhat pleasurable experience. on our last trip in Sept 07, we realized the food isn't very good and it's rather expensive + our 2 yr old wasn't too fond of the monkeys screaming & beating their chests above our table every 10-15 minutes. hence, we will not return to RFC@AK on our upcoming trip in Sept.
Showed up 15 minutes early for 1:00 ADR and we were seated 60 minutes later. We loved the themeing and food and service was good.Would go back but not worth a hour wait in our opinion. Danny
