Rainbow Looms on an airplane ??

Both my kids are heavily into Rainbow Looming and are bringing their loom kits to Florida.

Just dawned on me, that if they do bring their rainbow loom on board on the plane, will they take away their 'loom hooks' ?? That would devastate the kids to have their hooks taken away. Or should we pack them in a suitcase.

Does anyone know the answer or have brought Rainbow Looms on the airplane? We are flying out of Buffalo.

My kids have this too, and although we haven't travelled with it, we have travelled with crochet hooks which are similar, and they are allowed. This is from the TSA site:

In general, you may place your knitting needles and needlepoint tools in carry-on or checked baggage.
Circular thread cutters or any other cutter or needlepoint tools that contain blades must be placed in checked baggage. You are permitted to keep scissors smaller than 4 inches in your carry-on baggage.

Even if an item is generally permitted, it may be subject to additional screening or not allowed through the checkpoint if it triggers an alarm during the screening process, appears to have been tampered with, or poses other security concerns. The final decision rests with TSA on whether to allow any items on the plane.

Thanks !!! I also just got an email from the airport security and they said they've never had issues with bringing them on planes. I was concerned more for their hooks.

Hi - I know you already have your answer, but just to reassure you, we just returned with 5 kids carrying on rainbow loom without issue, both there and back.

Bring a couple of long unsharpened pencils with you, my girls have been using these with and without the loom, they claim its faster for them.
Check it out on youtube if they don't know how to do it.
