We leave tomorrow for our trip to Disney and the forecast is calling for 50% rain over the weekend and some throughout the week. Hopefully we still have some periods of sun :) What's your best advice for being prepared for this yet still having a great time? Thank you.

Looks like they are calling for thunderstorms, which is pretty much to be expected this time of year. I wouldn't worry too much about it. I doubt you will have a complete washout on any of the days. Bring ponchos (or buy them there) and just go with the flow. The storms don't usually last long and sometimes cool things off a bit. Have a great time. :)

If you are taking a bag into the parks (presumably w/ rain jackets or ponchos) I would bring extra pairs of socks as well. Nothing worse than walking around in wet socks!

Also, like a washcloth or hand towel from your hotel can be helpful in wiping off seats, people, etc.

Yeah us too. Arrive tomorrow and I'm pretty bummed that its calling for thunderstorms everyday. On our past trips in June we lucked out with a day or 2 of sun. Here's wishing us both some weather pixie dust!!!

If it is raining in the morning go for rope drop you will be done with MK by 11 when the sun comes out :rotfl2:
Three parks one day all the great rides YES RAIN

We always go in September and it seems to rain almost every day for a while. We take ponchos (good ones) and always wear waterproof shoes or flip flops/sandals. Nothing worse than soggy sneakers! I wear my hair in a pony tail so no stress over frizzy, dripping hair in my face. We just trudge on and have a great time. It does clear the parks out some, so that's the plus side!

One day soggy sneakers is bad enough. Sneaker that don't dry, or smell foul are another. It's happened many times, the day AFTER it rains in FL we find ourselves confined on attractions like Star Tours beside a family of people with stinky feet!:faint:

ALWAYS bring two pairs of quality shoes to WDW!

Sometime ago, a poster suggested stuffing wet sneaker with newspaper to help dry them. I've never had to try it.

Wet flip flops can be downright dangerous. If it is down pouring Crocs are a good way to go.

That said, most FL rainstorms are short lived.

that said, a HUGE downside to the current WDW model is that you are kind of locked into all your plans. ARGH! If you really want t make the effort, you can see about modifications, but it's a pain.

If you don't have a bag, an unopened plastic poncho package will fit into most pockets. Cargo shorts are a big plus! So's skipping the non-waterproof mascara.

Yah, no worries. Unless there is a slow moving tropical system or something you should be ok. Will you get more rain one day than another? Probably. But will you get sun and rain free chunks? Certainly.

Have a GREAT time!

I agree!

look at the bright side, the rain will wash away the humidity until it stops raining...

Some of our best times have been when it was raining. Everything from the "building dash" (fast walking between buildings and attractions and trying not to get to drenched) to the "I just give up" (embracing the inevitable and being kids again and loving the drenching). We wear sandals to avoid the wet socks. :D

We're actually driving to Disney right nowhere glad someone has posted about the weather because I've been curious about it as well !

We have been many several times in June. Of all those trips We have only had one time, 2012 that I would consider it as "a lot of rain". That year it rained basically from noon until about 7 on our DHS day and rained out Fantasmic. We also had about a half day rain one of our MK days and it delayed the nighttime parade.

Having said that, most of our other visits were like others said. Quick storms. Normally in the afternoon. Move pretty quick and sometimes it thins out the lines. Don't be to quick to read in to much doom and gloom.

PS I am not just saying this because we leave in less than 48 hours......:rotfl::rotfl2:
