Rain!

When it rains we put on our ponchos, wrap the stroller in saran wrap and have fun! JK

A rainy day at WDW is still better than a sunny day at work! Don't sweat the small stuff.

Rain doesn't ruin anything, it just gets it wet. :thumbsup2

Now that's the right attitude to have ! Love the picture ! :thumbsup2

Here's a picture of Adventureland during mid-day in the middle of August. I bet people last week wish it had rained to keep the crowds down a bit.

This was taken from the Magic Carpets ride, sorry it's sort of blurry.

HA! So it goes from "Scorching Hot!" to "Warm, but with a cool breeze" then back again? And so on.... ?

 that is awesome. Thanks! We will be there with ponchos in hand just in case. No matter, we will have fun! :woohoo:

We arrive on Monday...big ole black raincloud on our arrival day according to the weatherman!! But...I'll have our disposable ponchos packed, one for each day we're there. They go in my bag....I have them if I need them.
It will rain in central Florida...I realize that everyone wants their vacation to be picture perfect. But....lets not forget those who live there. I've been down there during a drought and it's not a good thing!! I've been there when the fires were burning away....gotta tell you that smoke is nasty.
So...if is should rain for all of us heading down next week, just think of it as insurance against those fires and droughts. It doesn't rain for long down there in the spring...wait until August if you want to see rain. I'm headed down there then as well....will be bringing two ponchos per day!!!! That time of year is something you have to see to believe.

Just think, it could always be worse!

For example, my WDW trip last summer happened to be the same week as Hurricane Fay. Trying to run around Tomorrowland when it floods is not as easy at it may seem

I think at one point I was standing in a puddle in Tomorrowland that was up to my shins.

About an hour ago I hit the dollar store (my daughter needed oaktag for a school project.) While I was there I picked up 20 ponchos (at 2/$1) for our August trip. I emailed my sister to let her know, and on my next trip I have to get her 20.

Rain is your FRIEND at WDW... this from someone who faced NO lines the day Tropical Storm arrived in Orlando last August.

Honest, pray that everyone else sees that same forecast and stays home!

We'll be there the same time- and I agree, it's too early to freak out. (Granted, I've been checking the forecast too.... ;)) But I would be shocked if there were massive all day long thunderstorms.

I'm presuming ponchos are readily available in the shops at WDW? We won't have a car, so couldn't go off property to get them.

Yup, they're readily available in WDW. We last went in 2001 and had Tropical Storm Barry sat over us for two weeks. Dad swore he wasn't going to wear a poncho (bright yellow with Mickey on), but when it bucketed down he caved in.

Oooh thanks. I'd love one with Mickey on it!!! Fingers crossed it rains now :lmao:

Don't worry about rain. We were there during Tropical Storm Alberto three years ago, and everything remained running. A lot of the attractions are indoors anyway. Some of the outdoor attractions did shut down temporarily, but that was more due to the tropical storm force winds.

Just don your rain ponchos and go ahead and follow your plan. I was very worried that it would ruin our trip, but it didn't affect it in the slightest.

Here are a couple of pics from our rain soaked trip:

This one I call "The Happiest Face on Earth" :rotfl::

You can't change the weather, but you can decide to have fun in spite of it!:goodvibes

Yup, they magically appear at every cash register the instant the first rain drop leaves the cloud. :wizard:
