We will be at US next week and the forecast is rain. Should I be worried? Does it rain for a short period of time and then it clears or does it rain all day??

Are there things to do while it rains? are the rides shut down?

ughhh...

that's the standard summer weather forecast for Orlando. Don't worry the weather changes every minute there..

It'll be raining one minute and the next there won't be a cloud in the sky. Don't worry about it. You may want to bring umbrellas, though if you really want to be prepared. They typically don't shut down rides unless it's thundering/lightning which it hardly ever does.

That's the usual afternoon summer thunderstorms, which are VERY hit or miss.

Here's a link an automated weather station next to the park

If you look at the last week, it rained twice and then only briefly. That's typical for a Florida summer with the seabreezes colliding from west and east coasts. Only fronts/tropical storms tend to disrupt that cycle. There is a tropical-ish low area off the coast of Georgia right now that could change things this week, but I don't think that forecast is taking that into account.

We were on Jurassic Park as it poured rain on the way down the big drop ... Got soaked the best ride ever...

We were there the first week of June and the rain was very sudden and unpredictable. We brought ponchos from the dollar store, put them on during the downpours and stuck them in the trash when the sun came back out. Even if the rain doesn't last long, you can get VERY soaked! Like others said, it usually is not all day rain.
