Rain on MVMCP

You are all right it (weather) keeps changeing. Now there is no rain on the weather channel forcast. I am will only be able today and tomorrow then I will just wait and see what happens. I will be prepared for rain anyways.

WESH and Weather.com show the next 10 days with highs in the upper 70's and lows in the lower 60's. Lets hope it stays close to that.:goodvibes

In August, we flew in on a Friday and had tickets to the PPP party that night. It rained continuously for a very long time. It rained so hard and for so long that the stormwater collection system wasn't keeping up, and we were wading through water in Tomorrowland. We rode the TTA for 1 hour straight. They didn't cancel the party. We are die-hard Disney fans, and always go in August and had never seen it rain like that before even though it is the rainy season. We bought ponchos for the first time in many many trips. At the PPP, the parade was postponed, then the fireworks were postponed, then the first parade was canceled completely, then the second parade was postponed while they waited for a clearing to launch the fireworks. The "loot" stations were all indoors. I was chatting with a nice CM while my boys were getting very tired but we were trying to hold off for the parade and fireworks and she said to go to City Hall and they would give us tickets for another night.

When I went to City Hall, I really wasn't expecting anything at all. I very politely told the CM working there that a very nice CM out on Main Street had said that he might be able to give us tickets for another night so that I could get my boys back to our room to sleep. Not only did he reissue tickets for later on in our stay, but he offered to refund our tickets for that night completely! Just a little bit of pixie dust courtesy of Disney!

Sorry to post this but we went on 11/27 and the forecast was for a low of 61 and clear (that AM). Well it started to rain (fine mist light rain) at 7pm (the start of the party), and right after the first parade it started to rain harder. They stopped one of the shows in the middle and you could hardly see the fireworks. The second parade was fine and the night was not a total wash. We just can’t seem to go to this and not get rained on. I hope it’s better for you, but we had a good time at the dance party:cool1: .

So the rain was all your fault that night......just kidding! We got soaked, but had a great time also. The fireworks were kind of bad, but only because at one point we couldn't even see the castle or the fireworks because the rain was just keeping the smoke so low! I didn't really see too many people leaving because of the rain....I wish more would have!

I just checked MSN weather, and I have found them to be fairly accurate and they show the 11th as being clear with only a 10% chance of precipitiation.

Yes, I'm sorry to say, but I think it was. I'm with you though, I wished more people would had left. It would had given us more time for rides and such:rolleyes1.

We were there the same night.. It was disappointing, but you just can't predict what Mother Nature is going to do.. It was especially hard on my sister (she's a Florida transplant from upstate NY - been there 3 years now) and she was sooooooo cold!! Didn't bother me because I'm a still a New Yorker, but I felt real bad for her.. This was her first trip to Disney during the Christmas season and her first MVMCP experience.. She suffers from post-polio syndrome and severe rhuematoid arthritis - among other things - so being exposed to the rain was really tough on her..

I also found it much more crowded this year than the first week of December last year..

Loved the new look for the Castle though - absolutely breathtaking!!! :thumbsup2

C.Ann,

We were there 2 years ago during the first week of December and the crowds were much lighter. I was telling my DW that from now on we will only go the 1st full week in December. I'm not sure why there were so many people there this year, but it was bad.

I feel bad for your sister, but I hope she did get to see some of the magic that the MVMCP can bring and she gets a chance to go again. Tell her that I'm sorry about the rain (lol).

I do love the new look for the Castle and I hope they continue to do this forever.

Sometimes I think that there is a dartboard that is used when the weathermen need to make weather predictions. That being said the ten day forecast down here in central Florida shows only a small chance of rain over the next week.
