Rain location for outdoors ceremony sites?

It seems like other than the WP and ballrooms, that most of the DFTW Wishes ceremony sites are outdoors.

I can't seem to find info about what are the corresponding rain locations for each ceremony site. For example, UK Rose Garden Gazebo: where do you have your ceremony if it's raining?

Also how many hours in advance is the decision made to move indoors to a backup location should the weather look bad?

*sigh* These are just the things that occupy my mind nowadays.

they decide 2 hours before your wedding if they are going to move it inside, i'm not sure what they do for epcot, i'm at sbp and we're moved to a ballroom (booorrrriiinnngggg) if it rains...

It really kind of depends on your outdoor location and guest count especially at Epcot. For example, my reception for 75 guests is supposed to be in Italy Plaza (courtyard). My back up location is Living Seas. I know there are also rooms in Norway and France and they can be used for backup. The parlor at American Adventure is another indoor location but I believe the guest max is low although I could be wrong. I'm not sure about backup locations for places outside of Epcot. A sales manager should be able to give you some more information and will know all of the backup locations. Good luck

I had my ceremony at UK Pavilion. I put in really, really early for AAR just in case it rained. They could not guarantee that until a few weeks out, and even that was iffy if they needed it for another event. After that, we would have had to move to a ballroom.

I am not sure what time they do the final call. I know they monitor it really closely.

Same question from me - we are supposed to have an early morning ceremony in Epcot (around 50 people). If it rains can I put in a request now for a rain location. If so, what are my options in Epcot for a ceremony.

My Epcot Rain Backup (for Morocco) is American Adventure Parlor (we're only having 35 people). I wish it were Bistro de Paris or Chefs de France!

You csn make a request about back up rain location in Epcot As Jonette mentioned for larger groups the AAR is lovely!

I know SBP, YCG has the ballrooms as their backup!

I'm not sure how much the alternate rain locations are "set". For example, LIGrumpyGirl originally had SBP scheduled, but was moved to the Attic at the Boardwalk for her ceremony. I've also heard (I think it was MEME) that the WP has been used for Sunset Pointe. But I've also heard that the King Kamehameha suite at the Poly is an alternate location for SP.

In addition to the size of your wedding party, room/space availability is also considered. I think it just really depends...but asking about several alternate locations in advance is a really good idea!

Hi! I don't post here often but I do read...I always seem to find the "What if it rains?" post! I think I may be one of the few brides around here that had to be moved.

I was supposed to be at SBP but due to thunder/lightning and rain it was moved to The Attic. I could not have asked for a more beautiful location!!! I never thought about the rain but I am actually happy about it! We could not have paid to use that room with an Intimate!

My suggestion is to ask in advance...maybe request The Attic instead of a ballroom if you have a small number of people - we didn't have any guests.
