We are thinking of going to WDW July 10-20. I was wondering about the rain in July. On the average, does it rain every day? If it does, is it for hours or just a quick storm and then the sun comes out again? Also, does anyone know if the rooms in POR have the curtain between the bathroom area and the rest of the room like CBR does? I'm sure someone on these boards will know these answers, you guys are great!! TIA! :wave:

Well, I can give you a definite answer on the curtain. We stayed at POR in December in the Mansion section. We did have a curtain in front of the sink area to pull.

Rain in July. Nobody can give you a definite on that one. It usually rains every day in Florida in the summer for a short period of time in the afternoons. We have also seen it rain day after day after day, almost non-stop on some days. Almost every picture of our vacation one summer had us in ponchos and holding umbrellas. Just bring the rain gear and be prepared. You will always dry off quickly in the heat. :umbrella:

July is when we usually get to go to WDW, this year is no exception, 7/5-13. It will rain "somewhere" on Disney property during your's an my stay there. Now where, that can be is anybodies guess. There are just slow steady rains for a few hours at times, but the ones you really have to watch out for are the ones that all of a sudden build up, bad looking-dark/black clowds. Out of these come severe electrical stormes. Dangerious lightening strikes and usually a downpore for several minutes. Then it's gone, the sun comes out and it becomes reallllly steamy then. We've usually been at MGM when these kind of storms hit for some reason. Make sure that you carry ponchos with you.

My dd and myself were at WDW July 9-15 ,2004 and we only experienced one evening of rain and a blockbuster lightening storm. The rest of the week not a drop of rain but very hot and humid.

Yes, summer is definitely rainy season in Florida. Count on afternoon showers... could be short, or could be long, but it doesn't have to stop you. Thunder and lightening is usually featured as well. Central Florida is the Lightning Capital of the US!

We were there in late July and the pattern was hot humid weather in the late morning and early afternoon with clouds building up until it rained. Usually a rain squall in the afternoon, and as that other poster mentioned, thunder and lightening too in some cases. Definately, be prepared for an afternoon rain.

July=Avg High 92: Avg Low 73: Avg. Rain 7.3":

Last July I remember Orlando had one storm that had over 400 cloud to ground lightning stricks in one hour. Don't worry about the rain...worry about the lightning.

We were there July 5-12 2003 and only rained in the middle of the night. Didn't even knew it rained until we went outside and the roads and sidewalks were wet. Went this past July 12-19 and only rained a couple of times at night. (I still have the ponchos I bought in 2003 never been open)

But went last week of June 2002 and it rained every day all day.

It's anyones guess, just bring some ponchos (the $1.00 ones at Wal-Mart are great, not as heavy as the Disney ones) just to be on the safe side.

Over the past 15+ years, we've visited WDW each July. Sometimes, it rains everyday. Some years, Florida experienced "drought-like" conditions, and little/no rain. So, as most posted...it's anyone's guess.

*You can always buy a Mickey Mouse poncho in your resort gift shop, and/or just about every other place on property (if the need arises!). Enjoy!! :sunny:

The best way to guarantee that it won't rain is to buy a rain poncho and pack it for your trip ;)
