I know that no one can predict the future and its better safe than sorry, but if you were going to Disney this weekend would you bring the rain gear? For us that include 4 ponchos and the stroller cover or would you just chance it. I have checked weather.com, accuweather.com and wftv.com. Of those 3 only 1 mentions a chance of shower on Sunday. Normally, we don't travel without it but since this is only a weekend trip and we are trying to get all of our stuff into 1 suitcase, I am trying to cut corners!

Take it. You're better to be safe than sorry.

We planned our itinerary based on the weather. Sunday and Monday were rain-free. Tuesday was supposed to be isolated showers, but then the forecast changed, and the showers rolled in about 3pm.

We were just getting on to Splash Mountain when it started to pour. And I mean pour. We got soaked from the rain, our stroller was soaked. We got a poncho for our daughter so she could sit in the stroller so we could go back to the hotel to change. It downpoured the rest of the afternoon and evening. Even with ponchos, it wasn't fun. We only had 3 park days and felt like we lost a 1/2 a day due to the driving rains.

Take the stuff. The forecast can change on a moment's notice.

From July through the end of September, it rains in Orlando every afternoon.
Usually it's just an afternoon thundershower that lasts less than an hour, sometime between 3pm and 6pm (it gets later in teh day as the year progresses).

Because of this, I carry a Mickey poncho on my utility belt at all times when in WDW. They fold or roll up fairly small and are not terribly heavy, and are adequate for those summer afternoon showers.

However, you should always look at the national weather forcast before your trip to see if there is an actual weather front of any kind aiming for Florida. If that is the case, you would need more robust and comfy rain gear than just the ponchos.

We leave tomorrow, and I'm trying to find a stroller cover. Any hints??? :confused3

I don't know anything about stroller covers, but if all else fails:

...I couldn't find one around here either so I just bought a cheapie rain poncho from Walmart to throw over it if need be. Not sure how flimsy the poncho probably is though. LOL Rebecca :sunny:

We used a min tarp that we bought at Walmart. It even zipped into it's own pouch. Then we punched a few holes in the ends and secured it to the stroller using shoelaces. Very MacGyver, no? I've also heard that people use small vinyl tableclothes.

Relax.

You are very, very fortunate to be going this weekend as high pressure will dominate central Florida's weather! Although temps are expected to be around 90, the humidity and precipitable water values in the atmosphere will be a good bit lower than normal. Look for sunny skies and drier warmth with almost no chance of rain. Even the National Weather Service office has described this weekend's forecast as "chamber of commerce" weather.

Have fun and see you there!

:rotfl: Yep, that would be my thoughts!! :lmao:

Good idea on the tablecloth! Maybe I can find something at Walmart down there before we check in. Thanks! :thumbsup2

If I even look at a map of Florida this time of year, I get out my rain gear. :teeth:
