Rain forest Cafe

Ok We for sure want to go here when we arrive. Two monthes away ....
So how far in advance do we need to make reservations? We will be doing Downtown Disney the first day we arrive which is a Sunday. So we will have that whole evening to look around and stuff.
Now we plan to leave Stockton ,CA between 7 and 9 am. So say we didn't leave untill 9am ( I bet we are to excited to wait that long! ) and accounting for a gas stop maybe 2 if needed (I hope not)
What time do you think we would arrive at DL? So I can figure a good time for the reservation.

And is the Jazz kitchen express like a take back to the hotel and eat later kind of place?? If not what in DTD is??

Honestly the rainforest cafe is somewhere that you could just put your name down and walk around while waiting for awhile if its really busy. But you know it definately doesnt hurt to call 2 weeks ahead of time to book a table. That way you are certain to get a table during the time that you want. Just remember to call a few days before you leave to confirm as you would any restaraunt.

When we were there in August it appeared to be busy all the time, with varying wait times. We made a ressie to make we had dinner when we wanted to.

I always make ours like a month ahead, to make sure we get the time we want. They only take a couple of reservations per time slot. So be aware if dining at regular "lunch" or "dinner" times.

I would think from Stockton it would take you between 6 and 7 hours. We live in Sacramento and it usually takes us around 6 and a half but I speed, a lot.

If you want to be picky with your time/day I would call a month ahead. I waited until 2 weeks ahead and had to let them pick the time for us.

OK we are early to bed early to rise people. (it's a curse I think) so we usually eat early like 4 but we could get a snack like the pretzal place or something.

Any leftover coupons for any snack stuff?!

Also, the bar area has the counter and about 6 tables for walk up service w/o reservation. We don't bother with making reservations any more. We just scout out a table that is ready to leave and sit down afterward. We haven't had to wait more than 10-15 minutes at the bar.

Does any one have a phone number to this restuarant?? My family is going for the first time and I heard this Cafe was a must do. Is it true? What is so great about it?? How much is it? (I have a party of 8 going. Mostly kids)

What day are you traveling down? Just make sure you take into account the normal heavy LA traffic as well as the rush hour LA traffic. It can be horrible. We usually leave about 6-6:30am, stop for gas and a brunch and pull in to our hotel about 2:30-3:00pm. Once we were "stuck" in traffic for about 3 hours and got in much later. If you can, leave earlier vs. later.

I called two weeks in advance and got stuck with a "dinner" at 3:30 for our party of 10. Eh, we'll gladly take it and eat a late breakfast (brunch) that day (in 7 more days!) Call early just to be safe.

Here's the number to the rainforest cafe but note that this is not a toll free number. You can call disney dining which should be toll free but they will only tell you to call the rainforest cafe directly as this is one restaurant in the down town district that doesnt use the dining reservation system.

They told us if we would eat outside, we could eat right away. We were there in September, and there were heaters to keep us warm, not that we really needed them. We waited about 10 minutes to get seated and then another 10 minutes for the wait person to take our order.

It was great!! There was a band out in Downtown Disney, so we got to listen to them.
