RAIN FOREST CAFE (DTD v/s AK)

Does anyone have a preference over Rain Forest Cafe whether it be @ Animal Kingdom or DTD. We have only done the one @ DTD b/c we heard not to eat at the AK one. anyone know why or have their own preference? what's the difference between the two?

I have not been to the one in AK, but we went for the first time on July 4 with friends, and won't be going back. Unless you have your heart set on it for the theming, skip it. Also, it's not on the DDP. Basically, we paid $60 for a lunch we could have got at TGIFridays or Chilis for $20. There was also literally NO room to move once you sat down, the tables were so close together. Just my experience.

There's no difference between these two places. No reason to avoid one or the other.

There are a couple of differences between the two.

1. The AK RFC offers breakfast while the DtD RFC does not.

2. The oustide theming is different. The AK RFC is themed as a waterfall while the DtD RFC is themed as a volcano.

Aside from those two things both locations are exactly the same. We've eaten at both and found the food to be of equal quality at each.

We actually prefer the one in AK to the one in DTD. I think it is a nice break from the heat. It also seems to fit in with the atmosphere of Animal Kingdom.

I prefer the one in AK but I can't tell you why because they are the same. Maybe as the previous poster suggested it is because it fits in with the AK theme. Unlike others, we like the food. Especially the burgers. And we don't even have any young children.

Another different between both locations is that AK Rainforest Cafe is part of the Disney Dining Plan; DTD RC is not.

We found them both to be terrible. The menu items are over-prived and under-flavoured, the service was terrible and the place is very very very loud.

If I had to choose one over the other, I would go to DTD because it was cleaner.

I apologize. You are right! DDP is not accepted at both Rainforest Cafe. I am confused with the ADR. I went to WDW early this year. I called Disney and it was possible to make an ADR for AK RC, but not for the one at DTD.

The only difference we found was that the Animal Kingdom location was a lot quieter. I also thought the tables were more spread out and it was a less crowded atmosphere. During the holidays, the DTD location is a mad house.
