Rain covers for strollers? Where did you get yours?

I did not check at Wal-Mart or Target. But I found them at Babies R Us. They were 7.99 each for a regular stroller. Not sure how much for the double stroller.
I didn't buy one however..hoping we won't need it in May! If I were going in the summer, I would have picked one up though.

I actually bought one from BRU that's a sun shade, bug screen, and a rain cover. It's cloth though, so I'm not sure just how water resistant it is. It's made my Kiddopotamus.

I just bought some extra ponchos, the cheap ones, that I plan to throw over our stroller if it looks cloudy before we go into an event.

I didn't bring my stroller cover because I figured I'd easily find one down there. I didn't even after searching Walmart, Target and KMart. I finally gave up and prayed it wouldn't rain, but of course it did!!! We all ended up buying a poncho at WDW (at 6 bucks each), but they worked great for us. We had the two strollers. Julia, who is 3, wore the hood on her (we bought all adult size) and covered the rest of the stroller. Then for Olivia, 7 mos, we just covered her well and because it was thick it kept her very dry. She slept through it all!! I wish now I'd taken mine, but it would have been a pain to pack, so I didn't. Just be prepared just in case!!!

We bought ponchos when we got there (they weren't that expensive). Although we lucked out and seemed to be indoor when the afternoon rain would come, we would cover the strollers with the ponchos before we went in just in case. It worked like a charm. If you don't want to buy Mickey ponchos you can get them beforehand pretty much at any store, like Walmart or Kmart.

For someone from the UK I find it AMAZING that you cannot find raincovers!

Our pushchairs (strollers) are only sold with raincovers and you can buy an additional set in any baby shop!

Just shows what the weather is like here!

This may sound silly but it worked great. I bought a clear cheap shower curtain($2.00) and put it over the stroller. It was big enough to be able to tie to the legs of the stroller. I would tie it on when we went into an attraction in case it rained while we were inside. It was also clear so my son could see out.

We always go in Aug. and it rains everyday.

Our Walmart and Kmart do not carry them. I have seen them at Baby Depot at Burlington Coat factory. We have one for our double stroller and I wouldn't do WDW without it. We cover the stroller before going on a ride and even if it is pouring when we come out everything is completely dry. They have nice airholes in the sides and are completely see through so the baby can ride in the stroller and stay dry without heating up too much and can see what's going on. Well worth any cost.

We bought ours last year at Target for 4.99 on clearance. They were absolutely wonderful. It was so nice to have something fitted to the stroller rather than something just draped over the top.

TIP: Take your guide map and put it on the sunshade part. Then put your cover over the top of that with the "windshield" rolled back. When it rains you're all set and your map stays nice and dry.

We did this any time it looked cloudy and the CM's at the Kilimanjaro Safari stroller parking thought we were so clever that they gave us one of the Magical Moments certificates that said "Most Prepared for a 2 week Safari."

I saw one today at Babies R Us for 9.99 for a single stroller. We have one and loved it when we went in June. The stroller and DD stayed dry the whole time.

Hi,

We bought ours at One step ahead
Follow the link and it should take you to the rain
cover. We bought the large size and it worked great.
We have had it for 3 trips now and it has rained on us
a few times. If we went to a sit down resturant I would
cover the stroller with it in case it rained. Our little one
was always dry.
Another thing we bought from there was a clip on fan
and it was great. When our little one took a nap
we would just let it move the air around her to help
her stay cool.
Good luck

I wouldn't dream of going to WDW with out one, if you have a stroller. Even at none rainy times, a quick shower can pop up. DD hated it at 1st, then she figured out it keep her dry and would tolerate it only when raining. It really saved our many a trip there. At home you just don't go for a walk in the rain, at WDW you have no choice and there is nothing worse then putting the the kid in a soaked seat. Last Aug we kept the cover on when in rides, because it could be sunny when we went in a ride, and pouring when we come out.

Ours is a Graco one, it has side air vents we bought it at Target for 9.99. My friend had one from peg prego that was bigger and fit better we browed the 1st trip, I liked it better. One tip, if you get a new one, open it up and let it "air" for a few days before you leave. It is a good just in case thing to have with you.

We followed the advice of a previous thread and bought a $1.50 vinyl table cloth and some clothespins to cover our stroller if it rains while we're in an attraction or restaurant. We checked out Wal Mart, Target and couldn't find a "raincover," and Babies R Us did not have one that fit our stroller.

We just use an adult poncho. Funny, if my daughter is in it she can have it on and still cover most of the stroller. Works well. When in a ride we just use clips to hold it down if it looks like rain.

Thanks so much for your tips. We are going in December so I don't know if it will rain but I was thinking of just sticking it in the bottom of the basket just in case.

My son is soooo fuzzy about things like food on his shirt or touching something with a different texture I know for a fact we would never sit in a wet stroller  silly him

Thanks again

I'm going to check out our target and walmarts 1st.

Trust me, it can still rain like you wouldn't believe in December! DH and I had rain on 7 out of our 10 days in WDW for our honeymoon Dec. 1-10, 2002! Don't leave it to chance!
